This car has very limited appeal, so it doesn't need more engines; it needs refinement. Make it 400 lbs lighter, DSG transmission, higher OD gear, oil cooler, ... so yeah ... pass on a hybrid and diesel - and focus on making the current car better.

Now those are all good ideas. I would definitely go for that.
