Dynolicious for iPhone?
Has anyone tried this? I bought the initial version and used it on my Mini Cooper S, the readings were way off. Then I got the update and didn't try it again until today.
I calibrated it, then put in the hp figures and 25% driveline loss (I have AT, is this no. correct?), plus weight at 3260. Then I launched the car after having my foot on the brake in sport mode and traction off, got minimal wheelspin, and got a reading of 0-60 in 5.0 seconds while shifting in each gear at around 7k rpm. Did I calibrate the unit wrong, or is all of this accurate? Anyone else have experience with this program? Thanks |
Your weight is way off. It is 3314 + fuel + driver.

I like the Cooper S but to get it to 60 in 5 seconds you'd have to drive it off a cliff. Looks like a data/calibration issue.
Keep us informed. I downloaded the program but have yet to use it. |

Wet, Cold, Here
:excited: Make sure the iPhone and car are on even or flat ground, Hit reset on app. and give another try. I'd also double check weight on a truck scale. Last thing would probable be, a quarter tank of gas at scale and test. Good Luck.

What is the drivetrain loss on the auto tranny? By the way, thanks for the updated weight info!

Thanks ChrisSlicks. Could you also verify the 370Z's weight for me?

I've used PocketDyno+ many times and it has gotten great results, although I got it when it was only $5 now it's about $13. I've also looked at but haven't tried Torqued, which has a built in library of cars to choose from so you don't have to mess with finding the right weight, can't speak on its accuracy though. I would recommend trying the free version of PocketDyno it has many features from the pay version and uses the same technology. Torqued also has a free version.

As an example, if you had half a tank of gas @10 gallons and you weight the same as me you would be looking at around 3550 pounds. |
Okay, I'll try all three and post results here soon...
Thanks, all! |
Actually, no free version of torqued that I could find...
