I converted a 350Z fan into a 370Z fan yesterday. He told me he had always like the 350Z better until he actually saw my 370Z in person yesterday. I'm guessing a lot of people still haven't seen it yet or don't even know what it is when they do see it. It's far from outdated.

edit: I think what's throwing the anti-trolls in here is the fact that you have named your topic "dated and needs refreshed badly." The only thing I think is dated and needs refreshed badly is shado's pe- er...wait, this isn't the conference room
ON TOPIC: 1. Don't know why you'd get so worked up over a door handle. Don't like 'em? Shave 'em. Done. For most of us, they're just fine. (Hell, if they stick out like a sore thumb to you, color match them, and voila! It's like camouflage. Vinyl wrap if you want to ever return to stock) 2. Fangs are iconic to the 370Z now, whether we like them or not. You're the first person I've heard who actually wants Nissan to openly get rid of them. Then again, I don't really wander around looking for things about the fangs anymore...my body kit got rid of them. Meh? Again, don't like them? Wrap the thing in black vinyl, and it almost disappears. It'll still be OEM when you rip the vinyl off. As others mentioned, you can also get a kit, and keep your front bumper if you want to sell as OEM again later on. I dunno what your intentions are, so that's just a few options for ya. 3. It's loud in the cabin, but I bought the car expected it to be loud. It's the same old flame war we get, why would you want to sound proof an out-and-out sports car? Just adds unnecessary weight, and most of us like it, or have become accustomed to the road noises, etc. Especially with test pipes or aftermarket exhausts, underneath the car is WHOOOOOOOO*pshhhhhh* Still, Bluetooth works, I can hear my music playing...good enough! 4. What's so overbearing around the lights? It's not like the Maxima or anything that looks like a sideways U. I rather thing the headlights and taillights look rather sharp on the Z. Breaks the lines quite well, imo. I just painted mine so it fit in the overall motif of the car, but on most cars I'd suggest leaving it alone. 5. You can't be serious about wanting a hybrid Z already. It's not going to happen for a while. Even if it does, it's not going to be a sports car anymore, I don't think Nissan has invested in the tech to pump out anything close to...say, Porsche's electric sports car. In the worst scenario, it'd be a Nissan Z in name, but like the Honda CRZ in execution; overweight, bloated, piece of junk that's 'supposed to be a sports car', but in practice isn't. tl;dr version - By your line of thinking, you'll never buy a car again. You'll keep thinking "...but they MIGHT do something next year to redesign!" The Z is still a new car, it won't do more than a minor change. If you like the car, get it. If not, don't. If a minor refresh DOES come around you like it, buy it then. But you can't keep second guessing something from the companies, or you'll end up with nothing. Or at least, an old Honda that lost its soul sometime when the Integra disappeared.

I didn't think it was all that bad, but looking back, I'll choose my words more carefully next time. Lesson Learned. |

2011 Z06, 1LZ package (2LZ got me blue tooth, heated seats, adjustable steering-wheel, a "memory" package, and the Bose sound system, which by all accounts is actually worse than the base system as the head unit doesn't have the wheaties for the extra speaker. Since none of that stuff did it for me, I just went 1LZ. If you are driving a car like this in weather that requires heated seats, you automatically fail). Arctic white, competition gray rims, black head-lamp over-ride. I am headed to Bowling Green to watch her roll off the assy. line this coming Monday. Here is a picture of someone else's car that is done exactly like mine. |

Long time lurker and my first post. But this thread is a little off the wall. The car has only been out 2 years. I didn't actually see one until late 2009, so that's more like 1-1/2 years really (And hell, it's certainly still not a car I see everyday, if even once a month). NO car gets refeshed that fast that I know of. Someone wants changes, fine, but to expect requests like already changing the coolest door handles on any car sub $50,000 is..... um...... Troll or not, this thread was started maliciously, or at the very least wrong, and as it is, it's a waste of time. I'm going back to the awesome lights thread. Actually, the lights were the first thing that immediately grabbed me and made me fall in love with this car. Then it was everything else. |
