I owned a muscle car when I was in high school and college (the original kind), so I feel kind of "been there done that".
I respect the Vette's performance, but personally think the styling is boring and outdated. Like others, I associate it with senior citizens (I'm stereotyping, I know). The Camaro is horrendous looking. Nothing like the original (although thankfully nothing like how they looked in the 80's either). The Mustang looks and performs well, but there are too many around. The Challenger looks good, but it is a Mopar. I'd have to see some reliability data before I would buy one. And it would still be a Mopar (a bias I've retained since my Pontiac muscle days).

When I go out on the road I see "vettes, Mustangs, Camaros and etc..., by the dozens. On rare occations I'll see a 350 or a 370. Not too many of 'em out there. I love the relative scarceness of the car.As a kid in the 70s' I loved both the muscle and sports cars. The 370 is both a muscle and a sports car for me.

Z's are more fun. Vettes are rattle-queens. I've never driven another car with more rattles and plastic sounds in the interior. I wouldn't own one if it was given to me.

I remember back in 6th grade when I went over to a friend's house for the first time and his dad's 300ZX was sitting in the driveway. I wasn't real car savvy at the time and thought it was some sort of Ferrari or some other exotic. Been a Z fan ever since.
Other than the Z, the only other car I was considering was a MKIV Supra TT. I probably would've bought one instead of the Z but there are many reasons why the Z is a more "practical" choice. The interesting thing is how similar the 370 is to those Supras (talking stock Supras here). Nearly identical performance, weight and overall body dimensions. Whether the VQ can match the 2JZ in strength is another matter. |

My fisrt few cars were japanese cars back in the day, and they always ran like swiss clocks!! As I got older and had more money, I was luckey enough to be able to get many nice cars......first gen RX-7, 3 GT Mustangs, C5 Vett, Ausie LS2 GTO, Porsche Carrera, Porsche 928, 1965 AC Cobra replica that u see in my avatar. Anyway, this Z, and me doing full circle back to a Japanese car, runs so much better than all the rest I mentioned....granted they are all very different, and great cars in their own right, but I guess for me, where I am in my life right now at 2 months from 50, the Z feels like an old friend. Drives, runs, looks, and feels awsome!!!!

I like the look of Vetts from the outside, but hated the interior. Plus I'd want the Z06 at least, and that's a whole different price range from the Z.
I think the regular mustangs look dull. The nicer ones - the Boss for eg - is nice but again considerably more expensive. And I think the Camaro looks great from afar but when I went to see it I thought it looked cheap up close (the plastic grill in particular). Plus I just wanted the handling of a lower lighter car than the American muscle - the 'Stang GT I had for a week felt heavy and floaty, made screeching noises on low-speed u-turns and just wasn't my kind of engaging drive. On a more significant note though, plain and simple - the first time I laid eyes on the 370z I literally fell in love and I haven't looked anywhere else since. |

I saw so many Camero's today again. And everyone was driven by a woman. They must really love them. Then I saw a cutie starring hard at me, she was driving a G37.

Today a Challenger parked nose-to-nose with me at the gym. Holy weight gain, Batman! That thing is HUGE (TWSS). I'll stick with sports cars. I don't like to diet.

I came from a C6 Corvette. It was a much faster vehicle than the 370, probably even better in terms of gas mileage and the day to day room. Yet the C6 just didn't fit me as good as the 370 for some reason, plus it kept breaking!
