I get this VPP discount through my employment. The problem is, most dealers tend to up the invoice price by around $1000 to cover the 2.87% discount provided by the program. Second, the discount only applies to the car itself and none of the options or destination charges. Also, once you mention this program, the dealership pretty much ends the negotiations with you, and will only offer the their incorrectly calculated VPP price. They will use some excuse like this is the lowest price, we can't even buy it at that price. When I purchased my Z, I actually got a much better price WITHOUT the VPP pricing(around $1500 less). |

I just noticed that your post here is your first one on the forum.
I also just noticed that you are apparently in Cypress. Now, there is nothing wrong with this being your first post nor is there anything wrong with being in Cypress but understand that the Nissan VPP program being discussed here is for the United States only...I note that just in case we aren't talking apples to apples here.

Cypress is a suburb of Houston in the state of TX, located in the USA.
I did get the car $1300(1500 was a typo) under what Edmunds states the invoice before TTL, and paid cash. Every dealer I went to in the Houston area would either say they don't participate in VPP pricing or quote some ridiculous number(very strange getting different VPP prices from different dealers). When I called them out on it, they would just argue that the price was "pre-negotiated" and could not be changed. I eventually ended up purchasing the vehicle from Dallas without it. I am just saying be beware of dishonest dealers. |

At this point, at least to take advantage of VPP (from me during this offer) you would likely need to find the car you wanted.
You can use VPP on an "ordered" car but I believe the claim number will expire in 90 days even if you have an order pending.

Anyway to verify that the VPP won't apply if it expires before an ordered car comes in? I'm looking to order with the VPP but will have to wait to even put the order in until July 1st as thats when the next order can be made by the dealer. Then another 8wks until it gets here, assuming it's on time. They never mentioned that my VPP pricing would run out, alhough I know that 90 days is when it does run out. I figured as long as I ordered the car before the 90 days were up I would be okay. I didn't realize I needed to order it and take delivery before the 90 days were up.

I would say that your best bet is to talk to the dealer in advance. Tell them you are wanting to order a 370z with vpp but you don't know if you can take delivery beforethe time runs out. Maybe they will work with you to keep the sale, if they say no walk away and try a different dealer. If they do agree to something then I would get something in writing that way they can't change their mind when the car gets there. Or maybe you would get lucky and the car would make it in time. That is just my two cents the dealers are the only ones that can give you a real answer on this so we should be asking them. If anyone does, post up what they were told. Thanks

I wish I simply knew the answer here but I don't.
I would suggest either going through your dealer and let him get the details or I'd call VPP administration - they should be able to answer this question. If that doesn't work then PM me and I'll try to get a definitive answer myself. VPP's help/information line is available Monday - Friday 7am to 7pm CST (800)299-4753. If it looks like the numbers expire no matter what (order pending or not) then when the time comes, if you've got a car on order and your number has expired then contact me again and if I have any numbers left from my yearly allotment I'll issue you guys a new claim number - my only caution with that is that other than this promotion that ends in a few days, I'm limited in the number of claim numbers I can get and it's possible I won't be able to get one but I'll to my best.

Wow...I've issued over 110 separate VPP claim numbers at this point and just finished up the last couple I had waiting on me.
This is just a reminder that if anyone is just now finding this thread and/or has been on the fence/waiting I need your requests today if at all possible and by the end of the day tomorrow (Wednesday the 24th) at the very latest. As I've mentioned earlier, although this promotion officially runs through June 30th, I'll be traveling starting early Friday morning (the 26th) and so I need to get any remaining claim numbers issued before I leave in to make sure they are issued before the program ends.
