You may have also burnt the lamp fuse or relay when you jumped. Was the headlight in the on or auto positon? That may have done it. I shut off all accessories when jumping the car....including even dome lights.

The other Chicagoland dealerships wanted me to leave my car for diagnosis, pay for my own rental, and claimed they were too busy to accommodate most times I requested.

Since he was able to start the car I don't think it was the IPDM. He probably blew the fuse to the ballast or relay.

Possibly the OP didn't boost his car properly and has caused other damage as a result?

What a pain OP. Is this forcing you to ride the ferry from LI to Bridgeport everyday to check on your Z?

I have a friends living in Fairfield, CT, so I am living with them for now, and commuting to work in NYC from CT.
