Carmax oil change

Just a kwik Q, got my car from Carmax and an oil change was done. Would they have used the Nissan oil, or just any old thing? I get weird thinkin bout this and not knowing :( I probably should just do a change to be sure!

It really doesn't matter a whole lot. When you get right down to it, oil is oil, unless you are going for extended service intervals, or operating the engine in extreme conditions.

If it bothers you that much, just change it. $75 for peace of mind? Worth it to me, at least.

Carmax oil change better than no change....if they do it right.

Even the Nissan dealer will not use Esther Oil unless you pay for it. Most of them use the regular Valvoline.

They definitely didn't use Nissan oil. They would have used whatever bulk oil they had on hand. Hopefully it was the correct viscosity. I would change it if it was my car. Use an ester oil.

And now you wish you didn't post that question...

Just go with Redline. It has 'esters' and many of us track our cars with it.
