Thumbs down my 40th got hit by a snow truck

So this is how it begin.
The parking security phoned me at 5am today. I was shocked that who can this be at this time. Yes, the bad news is my Z got scartched on the front bumper, fender, and the driver side tires. The bumper sticks out for about 3cm. I am hoping the the bolts are not broken otherwise they are going to pay for more. If I get a replace of a front bumper, I will consider if aftermarket ones work.. well, the tire, what would I say about it. It is a special order from the US and takes about 2 weeks to get here. If is bad luck just as nowadays, the snow storm, these tires runs out quickly. If that happen, I can't even drive. The funny part is, I got hit by a snow truck. I don't know if that guy is drunk or just not paying attention. I met with this guy and then the parking security and the police came, he is even making fun of it. Gosh, I just couldn't understand how can he be like that when doing such a mistake.. I don't want to get too much from the insurance company cause I know they are not going to pay for it. The good thing is the owner of that company are going to pay for everything that they have done to my Z..I guess is gonna get busy these weeks.

And I will post the picture of what is damaged....

Damn, sorry to hear. The village should be able to reimburse you. Talk to your insurance agent. That's the first step to recovery.

Try to get a body kit out of it. That's what they get for being stupid. In for pics.

Provided you can name the party that imposed the damage the insurance company absolutely would pay and usually with no deductible. The insurance company then goes after the vehicle owner or company for reimbursement.

Don't get too upset at the snow truck driver for joking about it. He is under a lot of stress right now. He's concerned about the damage and his job. The joking is how he is trying to manage his stress. Just be glad he reported it so the company can take care of it.

Don't forget about deminished value of the car (if they have that in Canada). Your car just dropped in value the moment the accident occured

I know. my father once was in a chaincrash ( his van reared one van which rearerd another van and then a golf decided to bury himself under our van's rear) and everybody was joking around except for the golf driver cuz he just had all his airbags go off in his face.

From one 40th owner (who also got hit) to another, its going to take time. I took my 40th right to the dealership to get it fixed. Definitely go through your insurance , they will deal with the plow companies insurance agents so that you wont have to do to much. If you need to get new rims for the 40th its going to take at least two weeks to get it ordered and shipped. Mine needed a new rear bumper, new back rim and the entire left side to be painted over again, took 3 weeks. Take it to an adjuster, have them put in a claim, get the green light from your insurance company to find the right shop to fix your car ( i suggest taking it to a dealership ), THEN you need to get a rental through the plow companies insurance which is a hassle ( you have to do this yourself). its going to take some time for all the parts to be delivered so the most stressful thing about this is the wait.....hang in there and goodluck

Just once I'd like to read about a snow truck/plow getting hit by a 370Z!

P.S. Sorry to hear about your Z...that sucks.

Here are the photo that I am taking. To be honest, I never dealt with accident like this. I would say, first time happens to me. The thing is I don't want to get bother with the insurance company that leaves a mark on the paper. I just want her to go clean.

Here is the damage on the bumper and fender. As you can see it sticks out. If is not lucky, the whole front is going to get replaced. I donno how much the paint with cost for 40th. I guess not low..

Here are the damage for the tires. You see, is flat. cause there is a hole. These are the winter tires. I usually don't drive in winter but for emergency, I put it on. And is my only baby. The thing is, I was going to switch to a indoor parking. Due to the fullness, I have to wait till some empty spot. I just got a call yestuday that there is one spot ready for me to park and I should be able to do all the paper work and fees adjustment for today morning. Who knew, this came up. I already parked my Z like 20 feet away from other cars. IS totally empty like 10m around me. Just didn't expect that the snow truck..Well, I got the whole plan and going to visit my parents during mid Feb. Since this thing hold up my time, I couldn't get out of it. Just wait till al fixed up then i will see what to do.

Don't worry, the paint on the 40th is nothing out of the ordinary, just a limited edition color from Nissan on this vehicle. All body shops mix their own paint and will color match exactly.
