what to get first?
I am going to get three mods eventually, but I am debating what to get first.
1. Coilover 2. Decent 19' wheel (volk or advan) 3. Supercharger kit Assuming I can spend 1k per month, what would you do first? I would want S/C kit the first, but then I would have to wait until the end of this year. Should I just powdercoat my sports package rays wheel and do coilover or springs first and wait for the s/c? I love both aesthetic and power, so it is a very tough decision for me. Any inputs will be appreciated!!! Updates I've done HKS exhaust, AEM CAI, Berk HFC, dynamat, and a few light bulb changes so far. I want to go to track but not without the oil cooler. I know I will be more happy to get S/C, but the wait time is a killer! Last edited by sojirovskensi; 01-29-2011 at 11:11 PM. |

What are your goals? Did you just get your car (otherwise stock?)? If you're more interested in looks, coilovers can give you the dropped look and you can do the wheels to get a better offset with your coilover setup.
If you're interested in track performance, I'd say the S/C is a better place to start for a few reasons. 1) You'll have 6-8 months during the time you're saving to actually track your car and see what it can do without changing anything. 2) The stock suspension is quite good for the track. Sure you can do better with coilovers that are properly setup, but an S/C will put a much bigger grin on your face and improve your lap times much more significantly. If you're worried at all about your warranty, I wouldn't S/C until the power train portion expires (5 years).

There is a BIG different from coilovers, wheels to the price of a SC!

Everyone knows Miata doors cost at least 5x's the price of a supercharger!
Seriously, I'd say coilovers since you've done some performance mods already.

So you are happy with your K&N's? Getting my Z delivered in April and beside tinking the windows, the intakes are what I will change first and Dynamat the trunk to reduce the rear tire road noise. I would appreciate your input on the K&N's though. hmm did you do the full intakes or just swap out the filters?? Thanks!
