An Observation
This is one of my random thoughts.
While driving up 880 (East Bay Area) from San Jose to Oakland last week, I was lucky and had a colleague with me so I was in the carpool lane. In the short trip (about 30 miles) I passed 3 2011 Mustangs -- all the same color of blue. There is something to be said for and, in my opinion, gained by for driving a vehicle like ours that is rare to see. In fact, I have had mine for 10 months now and have seen about 10 total other 370's on the road. Again, forgive my randomness here. |
It depends on where you are. In m4a1mustang's part of town, he sees 2 Z's to every Mustang.
|
I guess were a rare breed. I love it. I like it that way. Thats another reason I'm drawn to the Z. Not a dime a dozen. Makes you feel different.
|
I live in San Diego, and although there are a few members here form SD I still rarely see any 370'z on the road. I like that!
|
Yeah i missed that about my Z, i never see another one around esp. during winter right now. I see g37's a bit more but not as much as the new camaros.
|
I see a few 370Z's, and a few 5.0 GT's. Neither are rare, but neither are on every street-corner yet.
|
production numbers are low, even lower than the 350z per corresponding year...i like it like this...
there are definatley areas where there is a concentration of enuthiasts though |
hey mustang- as like the saying goes, all you asians look alike!
|
Nice! Its the same here in the northeast. You dont see too many. There are definately wayyyyyy more mustangs, challengers, camero's than Z's here...

I've only seen two 370Zs on the roads, EVER, even though my commute is 40 mins each way.
|
I know there are a few in my area. But they are spread out. I may see one a week if that. I love having a car you don't see that often.
|
I agree, I never see 370z's. Mustang's all the time. But again seem's to be the area...
I would love to know how many mustangs are sold per 370z |
In new jersey you see many more g35's and 350s. but I see about 500 mustangs to 1 370z. ive seen about 3 370z's in my 1.5 years of ownership of this car on the road.
|
in my area i see a 370z once every 1-2 months. it's a real treat when i see one. :D
|
I see lots of G35's around here. I've only seen one 370 convertible with a sexy lady in it at that. Wish I could find her now. Seems there alot more 370's in the direct Atlanta area.
|
I live near Cal State LA.I have sport package with Nav and my neighour have black nismo.I work around beveryhill I seen almost 8 within last 2 month.I start to have more and more...Cool

Mustang sales.....
1999 - 166,915 2000 - 173,676 2002 - 138,356 2003 - 140,350 2004 - 129,858 2005 - 160,975 2006 - 166,530 2007 - 134,626 2008 - 91,251 2009 - 66,623 2010 - 73,716 I'd expect there to be pretty big surge in sale for 2011 with the new improvements. This compares to something like only 13,000 370Zs in 2009 and probably not much more in 2010. Roughly a 10 to 1 ratio. |
That b alot of cars.

 excellent post |
lug- nice info. so i guess the stangs im seeing all the time in my area are old. honestly i can't tell which one's new and which one's old which one has v8. they all look the same to me. :D
|
I can count on two fingers how many Z's I see each week.
If i take a trip from my house to my office (about 5 or so miles) I can count about 4-5 new Camaros. Mustangs are all over the place... 11' Mustangs are quite few though. Still... the 370Z is a rare car. |
I bought my car exactly one year ago this weekend.
I have never seen another Z during the one year that i've been driving my Z. But I do occasionally see one when i drive my other car. I see mustangs everyday. In fact, two of my coworkers drive mustangs. A lot of people haven't seen a Z before so i still get a lot of stares. |

I agree. I've been raised around import vehicless (nissan/Toyota). Unlike the Z, the mustang seems like a typical car. Many learn to love asian ingenuity and the beauty of the asian sexy design. I dropped by a dealer with the wife to look at the mustang and the dealer was boasting about the mustang. He said, " which would you have? the 5.0 engine or the Z?" I said the Z, although my wife wants it, because it has a higher head turning factor and is has sexy curves for an asian ;) :happydance: I LOVE ASIANS!!! ^^ |

Before the 370z. I used to be in love with the G35 :) |
I live in South Carolina so there are far more Mustangs than 370s. Rednecks. Can't live with 'em. Can't live with 'em.
|
I see a 370z every time im on the road... sometimes two if I get lucky.
|
Now Cameros around here seem to be be over flooded. I swear I see one every 10 minutes. It's unbelievable. It's like Honda civics.
|
I have a confession to make so don't flame me. I knew nothing about the Z or it's history. So i bought the car solely on it's drop dead good looks. I mean i have owned 2 seat sports cars in the past 3 vettes. The Z still thrills every time. Camaros and stangs are becoming a dime a dozen on every corner.
Where i live you will see 09 even 2010 camaros and mustangs for sale on used car lots. That should say something. The Z is a special car. People still stop and stare at it. Sorry if my tongue's hanging out.........:driving: |
One of the things I miss driving the Z is having a rare car :D
But there's still only a few 370Z's in town. |
I can count on one hand the number of 370s I've seen in the 7 months I've owned the car. There's only one other 370 in town that I know of, a black one owned by my cousin.
|
I have a good one for ya. My neighbor(not next door, but close enough) got a 370 about 6 months after mine. Bought it from the same place, same color, and I remembered it. I told him exactly where it was sitting on the lot, roughly how many miles it had on it, and the options it had on the inside. Yep, I test drove it before I got mine haha. It was another 2009 leftover from Hunt Nissan in Chattanooga, TN(base model). I thought it was funny. I was like yeah buddy, you tried to copy me, but sadly you still got my leftovers that I didn't want. haha

I am from a small town, with not many people. There are like 2 camaros around, 3 challengers(Gf's dad & uncle are 2 of them), and the only 5.0 I see are still on the car lot.
And I have a 370z, and so does that other dude that bought the one I test drove. |
Yeah ive only seen a few 370's around here in WV. When I do its always passing me in the opposite direction on the interstate. More and more 350's popping up now they're used and affordable. Usualy give AND get a head nod or wave when i pass those.
The new camaro...different story. They're everywhere. I do like the looks of them, but I couldn't stand it if I had a car that is supposed to be a head-turner and i'd have to turn my head to see one pass me every other mile. |

my other choice was a new S2000CR and i was about to get that until i decided to give the 370z a quick test drive. and im real happy i dont see other z's in my area. i think i bought a 2seater exactly at the right time while economy is tanking and 2 seaters are a luxury than anything else. |
I've been spotting 370's pretty frequently here in Los Angeles.
But this is a big car enthusiast city. |
