You could have bought a nice low mile used turbo Porsche for that! Nismo is a great deal! Special edition cars like the Nismo are always going to be a better deal after they have been on the market a couple years. Dealers have a ton of profit built into them and they can always hack off thousands which is what I did when I went shopping for a new 2010 on New Years Eve. Went to several dealers and it was not long before we were talking under invoice pricing for the Nismo at three places.

Other advantages beyond pricing is fact that Nismo engineers and developers actually tested all the upgraded components together on the car and the factory warranties all these parts no questions asked. In my opinion they did an outstanding job and the Nismo is far better enthusiasts sports car than the base 370Z with sport package. Bolting on lots of after market crapola is not something I'm interested in. Resale of aftermarket modded cars is terrible. You will very soon have a $68K car that is worth what maybe $25K? Suspect my stock Nismo would sell for more used in a few years than a heavily aftermarket tainted car.

From what I see even with bolt on intakes and exhaust systems base cars dont make as much hp as a stock Nismo. It takes cracking into ECU tuning by tuner who really knows what they are doing. From what I see not many of those guys are cracking the 370 Z code with success to get power Nismo engineers did.

Nismo is more like Grand Sport version of standard Corvette. Better suspension, upgraded power and nicer body work. But a hell of a lot less expensive. I'm not a big forced induction fan either. I think Nsmo is perfect balance of power and handling.

I shopped a lot and there isnt anything in the $36K range that offers as much value as a Nismo edition 370Z.

From my opinion. base 370Z is for people who really dont appreciate a true sports car. More of a car that one would want automatic transmission and neon lights to criuse the mall parking lots for teenagers. Nismo is more of a true sports car enthusiasts vehicle. A more mature buyers car. Its sort of the anti-ricer 370Z. Base 370Z just begs to be all riced up.

Ok....I am trying not to get in fights...but...you really are one of the bigger idiots on this forum or you cant read. I DONT HAVE A BASE......The opening article (as well as my sig tag) CLEARLY states what my car is and has.

FYI....IDIOT.....had the Nismo come out THE DAY THE 370 was released YOU WOULD NOT HAVE GOTTEN A DISCOUNT. If you lived in a smaller town THE DAY THE 370 came out and there were only 3 TOTAL in the town.....YOU WOULDNT HAVE GOT A DISCOUNT.

I DIDNT PAY 68K FOR MY CAR thats what I have in it. I didnt want a Nismo, Porsche, OR ANYTHING ELSE......I LIKE THE 370! I was one of the early adopters on the GTM TT kit and it cost a little more at the very beginning.
ALSO, IF YOU LOOK IN MY PICTURES YOU WILL SEE I ALREADY HAD A PORSCHE 930, and several vettes, etc....

For the record, I think the Nismo looks "riced out" more than any other style 370. Its NOT FASTER and if you look at 1/4 mile times and track times you will see its ACTUALLY SLOWER.

In closing, I PAID CASH FOR MY 370 AND DONT OWE A PENNY ON IT OR THE MODS I HAVE DONE. I doubt you can say the same.

Please read before you speak in the future.

Dude, Try not to project your insecurities so much. $68K investment in a base 370Z? Im sorry but I suspect that has less to do with being an early adopter and someone who might be bait misguided. And paying $68k cash for aftermarket modded entry level Japanese sports car aint smart in my book. You ended up with an over priced rice rocket that I likely could whip on a road course in my stock but well balanced Nismo with a couple upgrades to brakes, tires and oil cooler. Im always amazed at lack of knowledge about what it takes to build a well balanced quick car. Sorry you invested so much in your over priced base car ricer mobile, time to drown your sorrows in some nonfunctional CF! That's why I love the Nismo! No investment beyond $36k original purchase price, all covered under warranty, no down time experimenting and isntalling after market crap. Nothing worse than people who have made mistake acting all righteous and superior when talking to people who saw real deal in the factory built car for nearly half the price.

I suspect I have far more experience with car development than most people on this forum. But I leave real development to my track cars - I tend to leave my street cars stock. Nismo is my cute little econo commute car.

If I was inclined to running 1/4 miles I certainly wouldn't have bought a 370z. Lol!

Ouch. Sorry about money pit 930!

Here you go sweetheart Take a ride in my wimpy 200 hp 1800 lb 914 track car. HP ain't all it's cracked up to be. You guys with blowers are clearly compensating for something?

http://m.youtube.com/index?desktop_u...&v=w8xE1XNpoGE

...or how bout a 1875 lb Porsche Boxster hillclimb car I built with full GT3 suspension, monoballs, KW coil overs , Tarret Engineering toe rods and sway bar links, etc, etc all sitting on 16x11 inch Avom a15 compound race slicks. Holds a couple class records.

And come on this thread was destined for troll-Dom. Might as well have fun with it!

LOL! I'd be willing to give any stock 370 Z a 2 second head start on local road courses. Suspect I would make up time within half a lap.

Dont underestimate suspension, power and handling advantages of the Nismo. I dont think Nismo was building a drag racer my over blown friend.

But hey its a free country if you want to ruin a stock 370Z, void warranties, etc go for the major aftermarket pimp and blow! I think most educated buyers will see value of the Nismo over buying a Sport model and adding a bunch of cheezy or very expensive aftermarket parts.

But at least have a sense of humor about it!

I cant tell if your joking or not anymore but here in SA its usually the nismos that are stuck on lots getting discounted for sale vs other models...

Depends on what you mean by fast. The z isn't relatively slow in terms of performance cars.

I guess i tend to think of it from what I see on the road. So with that, i say its a fast car. In the whole spectrum of things, sure theres alot of cars that are faster, but theres probably more that are slower (cars in general)... All in all, its all about the money you spend. You got the cash, you can get or make any car fast or faster...
