Those foam pads that use the license plate location are so cool! That is definitely the way I would go for the front, the rear idea is cool as well.

Those foam pads that use the license plate location are so cool! That is definitely the way I would go for the front, the rear idea is cool as well. The only problem I see with any of these is that if someone hits you with any real force, the bumper will have physical damage or distortion in that area regardless of a pad to protect it.
Good luck though, it is not easy having a car in the city!
