Good car..... for a 16 yr old???

Ive been looking at this forum for a while just browsing through pics and decided to join so I could post and see what people opinions are about the car. This has been my dream car since the day it came out and soon I will be turning 16..... I just was wondering if anyone thinks that a 370z would be a good car for a 16 or 17 year old (like maybe as a first car or a car after your first car) or if it has to much power and that I will probably get into trouble with it and that I should probably wait until I am in college or something? Also how would you compare the 370z to a Carrera S? My dad owns one and I love that car but to be honest i think the 370z looks much more attractive.

start with a 350z

i say you get it, as long as you think you can be responsible ( which will be very hard), my first car was the 370z, i got it at 18, i drove the hell out of it the first couple months because i never had any car as powerful as it under my control. So just be safe when u decide to go crazy with the car.... I'm 20 now and i havent been in any wrecks.... Also, get a radar detector !

Understand that new drivers are like driving bumper cars. For new drivers the question usually is if you get in an accident but when. As investment goes when my kids start to drive I getting them a cheap reliable used car that They can get all the fender benders out of their system in.

That's a decision that your parents and yourself will have to make. You will get TONS of comments saying that your are too young for the Z or that a teenager shouldn't drive a car that costs greater than $30K. Your state dictates what age you are able to get a drivers license, NOT what car you can drive.

DO YOUR RESEARCH!

Just don't be an idiot. I had an 04 350z for my first car, back in 04. Never banged it up (Until I was in college and fell asleep behind the wheel) but did act like an idiot with it when I was in HS. Just be careful and don't think you're invincible.

Well I like 350z there just not as good looking I think, but then again its not always looks that matters. Ive heard 350z's are really harsh as a DD and seeing as ill be driving it everyday.... are they that harsh?

Of your between a Carrara S and a 370z and someone else is buying why not look into a cayman S, lotus, or even GTR

GZ3 01-09-2011 08:54 PM

thier really not, my 03 was a DD for 6 years ...i did some light suspension work to it but the ride was excellent

you will either wreck or get multiple tickets in your first car. I think the 350z suggestion is best. besides, if your parents give you a perfect sports car right off the bat, what do you haave forward to working towards?
