I'm willing to bet it's the steering lock assembly. There's a recall for the 09 GTR's, and this trapped me once as well and needed to get towed. It affected a boatload of 09 GTR's all over North America. Since I'm sure the Z's steering lock are similar, if not identical, I'm willing to bet it's the same issue.

It'll be covered by warranty. After half a day of labor, it'll be back in your hands. As long as your dealership is GTR certified, I bet they're very used to fixing this and will get you back on the road quickly.

Good luck.

Lemon law +1. Especially when you have that many problems. Makes you think you'll have the same issues for the length of the car. Then what happens when you go outside warranty. Thing is these issues are mild. But more frustrating than anything.

I ran into the same problem last october. I came on here and a few others had run into the problem and recommended i disconnect the battery for a few minutes, and that worked great for me. Did you try that first?

90% of the time it is the steering lock assembly that is stuck on. Hopefully they get wise and test that out before doing stupid things with the ECU and BCM.

Might be a long shot. But do they pay to have it towed to the dealer?

I had bought extended warranty and with that comes 24/7 roadside assistance and I just used that.

hummm... is it just the lock to be replaced? is it easy to replace this steering lock?

i'd keep one in the car just in case if it's easy to replace with basic tools. i have some tools all the time in my cars (breaker bar, basic wrench sizes, basic sockets, screw drivers, can opener, skillet, ladle, etc. )
