Woman killed my Z

Yesterday I was dealing with a woman who looked familiar to me, and I to her. I assumed I had dealt with her before. Oh I had only not professionally. I was about to write her a check when I saw her name.
I said "I do know you" She asked "how" and I responded "you don't want to know. On April 19th, I was parked on the side of the road, far away from all other cars. When you drunkenly plowed into my car at 60 MPH."
You should have seen the look on her face. "you had the green sports car"
Yes a 1995 300ZXTT with 68K miles and in perfect shape. I am the one who arrested her under PC831, citizens arrest, and would not let her leave with her friend who was there and trying to save her from the law. I told her friend if she leaves while I go call the cops I would have his job (I know lots of folks), dropped his bosses name, and he was very cooperative from that point on. I was calm and cool in the moment, and never lost my temper.

In April she told the cops I pulled out in front of her. A pretty good trick since I was having dinner across the street. Today she admitted I was not there at the time.

She was arrested for DUI and still has 3 classes to attend. Must have cost her thousands more in fines etc. Her brand new Mercedes convertible was totaled too. Now she drives a 1995 Mercedes and I drive the new Nissan. Sort of a reversal of fortune.

Time can heal wounds. Starting the next day, I referred to her by the acronym Can't Understand Normal Thought. Although I thought I would come unglued dealing with insurance companies, it is all behind me now.

Without her in my life I would not have bought a 370Z, since I loved my 300. I compare my loss to somebody who loved his wife for 15 years before she was killed by a drunk driver. Then remarries and finds a whole new love.

Today I am even scheduled to get those coil overs installed. Life moved on.

(could not upload pics for some reason. Here is representative pic.)

daisuke149 01-05-2011 10:51 AM

I thought about it. But since what she had instantly turned into $1000 profit, I decided I was better off.

I bought her personal items, such as her childhood bracelet, her fathers gold that he took with him from Iran back in 1980, and her mothers ring.

She told me she had more and I said sure, "See you next Tuesday" another acronym. Think texting.

 sounds great.

wow, she really screwed it up for herself, huh?

Wow, that is something else. It only goes to show how small of a world it really is, at least you were never physically hurt in that accident!

Oddly she called me today because I dated the check 2010. Then she wanted to talk more, like I was her priest.

You are so right, although at the time I might have argued with you.

And this is why I believe in karma.

I disregard Karma, but that's a neat coincidence. It just sounds to me like her life-pattern of fail after fail is finally catching up and manifesting itself outwardly.

so how did you know where he works, what his name is, and who is boss is? Sounds a bit like hollow bravado. And even if you did neither you nor his boss can really fire him. That would be wrongful termination and grounds for a lawsuit. Obviously he's wrong to cover up for his friend but that was quite a weak bluff on your part. Surprised he didnt call you out on it.

wilsonp 01-05-2011 06:51 PM

In California, wrongful termination is extremely hard to win.
