Yesterday I was dealing with a woman who looked familiar to me, and I to her. I assumed I had dealt with her before. Oh I had only not professionally. I was about to write her a check when I saw her name.
I said "I do know you" She asked "how" and I responded "you don't want to know. On April 19th, I was parked on the side of the road, far away from all other cars. When you drunkenly plowed into my car at 60 MPH." You should have seen the look on her face. "you had the green sports car" Yes a 1995 300ZXTT with 68K miles and in perfect shape. I am the one who arrested her under PC831, citizens arrest, and would not let her leave with her friend who was there and trying to save her from the law. I told her friend if she leaves while I go call the cops I would have his job (I know lots of folks), dropped his bosses name, and he was very cooperative from that point on. I was calm and cool in the moment, and never lost my temper. In April she told the cops I pulled out in front of her. A pretty good trick since I was having dinner across the street. Today she admitted I was not there at the time. She was arrested for DUI and still has 3 classes to attend. Must have cost her thousands more in fines etc. Her brand new Mercedes convertible was totaled too. Now she drives a 1995 Mercedes and I drive the new Nissan. Sort of a reversal of fortune. Time can heal wounds. Starting the next day, I referred to her by the acronym Can't Understand Normal Thought. Although I thought I would come unglued dealing with insurance companies, it is all behind me now. Without her in my life I would not have bought a 370Z, since I loved my 300. I compare my loss to somebody who loved his wife for 15 years before she was killed by a drunk driver. Then remarries and finds a whole new love. Today I am even scheduled to get those coil overs installed. Life moved on. (could not upload pics for some reason. Here is representative pic.)
