i agree the juke looks funny and in some ways obnoxious when compared to the rest of the cars in a parking lot. i did drive it a few times though, as i'm a transporter for nissan, and i'm doing another run with a juke today as well. the only thing i can compare it to is the older toyota rav4, before it had its longer body facelift, with the additional of a turbo which gives a very nice kick. you can hear the turbo whine up, but obviously not a 370z.

wdk- i like the fact that the juke comes in a 6MT option. and it being a xover wagon i suppose it would be perfect for people that have bad roads. fortuately the roads around where i motor my cars aren't too bad (well, let's wait until spring... )..

I agree, your friends sound like they are jealous. I mean who wouldn't want a 370Z at your age?! I'm sure they wouldn't hesitate to own one if they could. But besides that, they are right about the practicality aspect. If your are an active person who bikes, rafts, outdoorsey stuff like that, then you'll be stuck at a cross road. I'm pretty active myself, but I have plenty of friends who are willing to drive and haul my gear around, so that's something to think about. If you have your own family, then it's probably out of the question. But from what I can tell, the Z is definitely a car you can live with. I had a 350 around your age and I never ran into any issues. I love having 2 seats, I never had to pickup or drop anyone after partying all night. And when I go out with my co-workers to lunch, I never drive =). So there are a lot of ups to only having 2 seats.
I'm sorry to hear about your mom...but from what others have reported on this forums. The auto works very well, so I wouldn't completely disregard that option. But I also opted for a manual, so I know where you are coming from. Good luck man. |

I haven't had any problems with practicality. What ever I'm carrying, it fits in the car. But I do have a pick up truck as a DD and to haul stuff. But I don't haul stuff all the time. The Z is a nice car and if you need to haul some big stuff like furniture or a flat screen t.v. you can rent a pick up truck. I think it's $20 at a Uhaul for a day. And if you can't finance it yourself ( why ) then I wouldn't get it. It's not meant to be right now. Wonder what your insurance is going to be. If they are just co-signing cuz you don't have enough credit then go for it. There are pluses to a 2 seater like the guy said above. You won't be the one who hauls everyone around.

At your age and circumstances, I would have gone for something sporty but more useful, like an STI or EVO.
This would have been my choice, if I didn't also have a huge SUV for anything requiring "practical". |

In those cases, the SUV is really being used to its potential. And then you have the real offroad SUV's, like the FJ Cruiser or Xterra. Those things are usually being driven on city streets, while a minority of that ownership crowd will take it out mudding or rock climbing, which is what those vehicles are supposedly for. |

Buy the car now while you are still living in your mom & dad's basement. You will learn to deal with any impracticalities. Enjoy it while you are young. Before you know it you'll have a ball and chain around your leg, 2.5 kids, a big mortgage you can't afford, be going bald, be yearning for your high school and college days and the girl that got away, and be looking at some mini van with fake wood on the sides and be glad that you made one good decision in your life and bought an honest to goodness sports car while you could.
Thank me |

rofl...i agree with this guy to an extent. i mean it may be a little financially irresponsible to buy a car of this caliber, but if you can truly afford it without fearing the repo-man...by all means go for it! my parents lectured me when i bought my Z as well..."why dont you get a lexus gs or something? blah blah blah" my response? "because im not 50 and married with kids". |
