im not too sure how VDC in our cars work, but if its the same as esp, then it applies individual brakes to keep you inline with your target and to maintain control depending on steering position and where it thinks u want to go. if the brake reservoirs are low it could think that applying individual brakes would be dangerous in this scenario and shut off altogether.

the title of this thread reminds me of the line from the james bond goldfinger movie
vegitto-kun: you expect me to drive? 370z: no, mr. vegitto-kun, i expect you to die! |

You might be right, it happened to me last year when I changed over the brake lines and had a small leak that tripped the light after a couple of days. Can't remember if it disabled VDC or not, but it very well could have.

I would top it up a little. Mine had only reached the half way point as well when the light came on going up steep hills or with hard acceleration.

If you don't have anything special in there now then you can essentially top off with any DOT-4 brake fluid.

the VDC off bug happened 3 times today -_-.
first time I wasn't even really going hard. I just got out of my driveway and I was just gently accelerating and out of nowhere VDC off at maybe 2000ish RPM. then yeah my dad drove and was messing around -_- brake light and VDC off both time he drove Last edited by Vegitto-kun; 01-05-2011 at 06:02 PM. |

You have to top off the brake fluid to near max. I had the same problem on my car on the track last october where due to excessive pad wear the fluid level dropped. It caused the vdc to go off and the brake warning light to activate intermittently under hard acceleration.

Like i said the same problem happened in my car. The fluid level is basically barely covering the sensor. Even the tiniest movement in the car will make the brake fluid slosh and splash in the master cylinder and uncover the sensor for sbort periods of time. Just top of the brake fluid and you should be fine. And dont forget to check the pads in case you need to change them
