Default My Z is trying to kill me.

Yes my Z has finally decided to try and kill me.

First problem I have been having, about a couple of months ago the car started giving me the "maintenance: oil" warning. I know why this is happening. I changed out my oil after francorchamps and they forgot to reset the oil timer and that is the same thing they said and told me that they will fix it with my next oil change.

but after a week or two if I go half WOT or WOT this warning light blinks at around 4000-4500 RPM you know the one that looks like (I). most of the time if it happen I just let go of the throttle and it goes away, nissan dealership said its a built in safety for when you should change your engine and if you try to rev too high and that it shouldnt be a problem.

but the worst part is, if I KEEP going with that light on out of nowhere

VDC OFF. for no reason the VDC gets turned off. after going "wait wut?" I try to turn it back on. VDC stays off no matter how many times you press the VDC button. so I went to a parking lot to see if it really is off. car flies all over the place so yeah its off. if I turn the car off and on again VDC is turned back on.

this has happened around 5 times now and it is almost like the Z is trying to kill me for going too fast.

and you all know

Any idea what the hell would cause the car to suddenly disable VDC.

going to make an appointment with the dealership soon and hope they can fix it.

if any of the sensors or alignment is off, the VDC will turn off.

When yous tart the car it will be on, then it will decide hey, somethings not right.. why are the wheels going all crazy and the dudes still driving, ima just turn myself off.

<-- when i had my new suspension put in and before i had the alignment this would happen.

soo it senses something is wrong so it decides to disable all driving aids?

doesn't seem logic to me.

well if it senses something wrong and it stays on.... then it could accidently turn on when it shouldn't and it could cause you to loose control of the car and in turn cause you to wreck which would be Nissan's fault..... so the smart thing would be to turn it off so they can't be liable for it....

Which light is flashing? The traction light, the tire pressure light or the shift light? Use a picture from the owners manual to point it out.

That is the tire pressure indicator. If it is flashing that means it isn't getting a reading from the sensors. If it is steady then the tire pressure is low (or high).

Oh, if it is the brake warning light then likely you are slightly low on brake fluid. When you accelerate hard the sensor in the reservoir gets a lower reading and the light comes on. If you did anything with the brake lines check for leaks, otherwise it has just dropped a little due to pad wear.

In the US the brake symbol is different, it says "BRAKE" instead of ((!)).

I see, still don't see why that would suddenly make my VDC turn off

Yes you do, it wants to kill you like you said in your first post. We just don't know why it wants to kill you. Did you use 87 octane? Did you let a Honda Civic pass you? Did you say the Hundai Genesis was better looking? You must have done something to bring on this behavior.

Your 2 problems would appear to be unrelated.

doesnt vdc work through the brakes as well? so if his car is detecting brake issues with the fluids or whatever reason that could trigger a vdc failure.

anyway. i think what we all can agree on is.. go get it checked out and let us know!
