Auto w/FI?
I've really been wondering what to do with an extra 10 g's I have laying around, and thought about doing something ridculous to the Z. However, mine is an auto. I'm worried if I add a SC, or TT is will melt the tranny. Thoughts? Opinions? FI would be a blast, but would it be better to trade it in for a manual for this sort of project? A GTM built tranny would put me out of budget.
Thanks! |

GTM has a full stage III trans capable of taking 600hp IIRC their website correctly. It's only $4500. Just to beef up the manual would be around $1500 of that. Pretty good deal! They also have the parts to improve the OEM auto trans for cheaper if you don't want a drop-in unit.

THE ONLY 7ATs THAT HAVE FAILED SO FAR HAVE BEEN ON SC CARS.....NOT TT CARS! If you plan on a TT install, I highly suggest you call Z1 for pointers. Even if you dont use them, John and team are WHY my TT 7AT is solid and problem free. |

There have also been non FI's manuals that have failed. There really isn't enough data out there yet to make a solid determination as to what these transmittions can take on average. As always, if you are an early adopter, you roll the dice.
