370Z Rigidity (Hz or Torsional/bending Nm-Deg) anyone?

I would love the GS EXCEPT for the targa top. I am not into removable roofs. That is the only reason (besides the cheap-looking rims that look like GM got some chinese company to copy the 370Z's.) that I would not buy one.

I freely admit that is part of why I want one, but mainly, I want something that is unique. Something that "goes to 11". They made a little over 500 of them last year. It's far from "limited edition", but they are unique, if only in their stock capabilities. Right or wrong, practical or not, I have dreamed about owning either a Viper or Z06 since highschool.

I am very tempted, if the bank denies, to just save another $20K up this year and re-approach this problem this time in 2012 and catch the last C6 Z06's made and with 30K down, I don't think anyone is going to blink. Either way, what's just 1 more year for something you have dreamed about since you first got a car? I am leaning strongly toward toward that.

What guy doesn't? You read it here often that people try to paint the Corvette in a negative light... you know all the jokes... but you know that 100% of them would be ecstatic to get to drive a Z06 around town for a week. There's nothing quite like the "undisputed king of the road" feeling. This applies to large and small wangs alike.

Indeed. Damn GM for making the ZR1. The enhancement of the Z06 just isn't what it used to be, but the smallblock 427 is so much more a work of art than a tarted up LS3 with a blower on top, from the artwork side of it. To me, a true sports car is art in motion. This is why I dog on the mustang's SRA. Even if it did EVERYTHING EXACTLY the same as IRS, it just isn't as artitic to me. It's not just performance, it's the engineering of the Z06 that I like. I love mechanical, technical things, and that car has more innovation in it at that price-range than anything else I can think of.

My car was an '06. The '08+ cars got a better steering rack (tighter clearances, I think), but the steering feel is only a little better. It's a bit sharper, but the weighting isn't that different. The spring mod (I'm not familiar with it) would likely give it some heft, though I doubt it would improve the feel all that much, if that's what one's after. As a side note, the Z06 clutch fluid needs to be kept clean or the pedal may stick to the floor following aggressive launches.

That's pretty much the same for the Z with regards to the clutch.

My G20 has one, and I agree, it does not step out, or do anything untoward. It's a good setup.

Correct. Turkey-baster. My WS6 was "supposedly" the same, but I never changed the fluid and it did fine for 75K miles the first time, and I sold it at about 70K from then. Never had an issue. I know others who think the same, but I suppose clean fluid is nice.
