Yes, it was Wednesday night. I knew there was potential for ice that night, but thought I was beating it home.

Down in the South (Atlanta) we don't switch to winter tires as it rarely snows or ices up. This is doubly so in December. I have lived her 22 years and have never seen it this cold. It has been since 1882 since we had snow on Christmas day, but we had it this year!

That Wednesday was crazy in Atlanta. I stopped at the traffic light at Courtland and Ralph McGill just before it goes over the highway. There was Charger next to me that kept spinning as we tried to move off. I crossed my fingers and hoped for the best. Luckily my tires found traction and we managed to get moving and over the bridge.

We don't get much snow in Southern Virginia either, but I still switch to all season tires due to cold temps. You're dime temps dont look too bad, but your lows ar a bit colder than recommended for the summer tires.
