To add some fuel to fire: its really hard to justify a car accident when you've got the front end damage AND YOU were on the wrong side of the road. I call BS on his " I was trying to avoid an accident" part of his story. Feel bad for that Z though... I wish I were in the area too so I could salvage those sport brakes and rims/tires granted that they are not damaged.

I like this thread, makes my day less boring

it is possible that it wouldn't start because there is a "collision startup reset" button. I learned about the safety measure when I got into an accident in my mustang. My car wouldn't start although I was rear ended but there was a switch that had to be pressed in my trunk to get her firing again.

Ur damage looks extensive, I would guess between $15k-$20k. I would ask your insurance company what's their policies on write offs. Some may say that anything more than 75% must be written off others may not want to pay out and go higher. I don't know if you have a lien on the car but if that's the case you may not end up with a lot of money left over since you would owe almost all your principle on your loan.

Now the harsh fact, you're car will never feel the same. That is pretty extensive damage to the front right suspension sure there are great body shops out there but that will factor into repair costs which will likely be great as it is. You seem pretty young so chances are your emotionally vest and want the car back but for me personally and many other members here, the car will be a mechanical liability, have a really low resale value, and frankly not something I would invest modifying which is half the fun. Good luck keep us posted but at the very least anticipate the worst.

English, grammar and sentence structure must be elective courses in Law School.
