So i just left the body shop and the adjuster had just left right before i got there. The rep said he was up to about 16.5K for right now. he said he was going to send in the paper work and let claims handle the rest. They still have to factor in the supplemental cost, rental car, labor etc. Rep told me it was borderline for right now and that theyre bodyshop does 75% of current value to determine total loss. My insurance is State Farm..do u guys think it will be totalled or not?

Yeah, I would hope the thing gets totaled too. Any idea what you'd replace it with if it does? Another Z? Something else?

Don't get too whipped up with a new car until you know it's totaled. Otherwise it's a whole repeat cycle of death, dying, and bereavement to get over the bad news that the car is still yours. Assume it's yours and you're going to have it repaired...then anything else is just gravy. A neighbor advised me recently that I should have hit the sides and back of the car before the appraiser came out. Totaling a car means you either have to hit the living $hit out of one side or just moderately bang up a couple sides.

I looked at both, the GT500 crowd is NOT full of happy campers, and I see a lot of them on the Shelby forum dumping their cars becuase they reject shifts, grind badly, Ford isn't fixing the problem in many cases, on and on. The GT500 is a nice car with a few issues in the works still. It's fast and handles well, yes, but its no fun when you can't shift into 2nd within 500rpm of redline without getting a nasty grind or a reject.

man, sorry to hear about it. I had a similar issue happen to me once while trying to avoid the accident by a dumb Virginian who runs red lights, but all I had was a new front bumper due to scratches and superficial damage. All the luck and thankfully your safe.

I know, I know, tempting to , but I feel bad for these guys. SPending almost $60K on a car you can't shift normally, that the company says has a problem, that they refuse to fix.
Lemon Law claim coming over Ford's refusal to address 1-2 grind problem - Team Shelby No ageism, racism, sexism, etc. but I find your statement completely stateist! |
