Shipping A 370Z across the country
So I am moving from Boston to LA... anyone have any tips on shipping my 370Z across the country? Should I send it normal, covered, or enclosed? Anything I should do to prepare the care? Anyone know any good transportation companies?? All thoughts and suggestions welcome!

I had to do this when I moved from MI to CA - and at that time was told to ship it without a car cover on. Dust/dirt could get caught under the cover...then you have make-shift sand paper ruining your clear coat/paint. If you can find a reasonable enclosed carrier, that would seem to be the best bet. If it's too pricey, just get it detailed before, and after transport and you should be fine. Welcome to LA

Enclosed seems to be $400 more.. i was debating on buying a cover (which I could reuse) and just sending it covered. Your argument about dust & dirt makes me rethink that however!
Can't wait to get to LA!! I need an installer to put my rear view camera in as soon as I get there! Suggestions? |

The big boys use these guys: Enclosed Auto Transport, Enclosed Auto Shipping, Classic Car Storage - Horseless Carriage Carriers
If you're fanatical about your car, that's the way to go. Otherwise just ship the damn thing in the open and it'll be fine. I've never seen a covered car on an exposed truck. I'm sure you'll pay extra for that as they'll have to cover and uncover the car when they shuffle them around on and off the truck.

So I ended up going with Cascade out of Washington. They gave me a reasonable price for enclosed ($1450) and delivered on time without any issues. Car was a bit dirty but I don't entirely blame them for that, I sent it out at the tail end of a blizzard in Mass. After a wash it looked brand new again.
