Default Clunking noise after turning car off?

Well, my car hasn't been turned on for about a week now. After turning it on and leaving it on for about 20 minutes, I turned it off and the transmission I believe made a clunking noise like medal hitting medal. It was just one time. I turned the car back on again and then turned it off a little after, no noise after that.

Anyone have any clue what that could be?

Do you have a 6mt or 7at? I'm guessing a 6mt from your avatar. If so did it make the noise when you let the clutch out?

It's a 6mt and the clutch wasn't down when it made the noise. It was weird, I cannot reproduce the noise again.

Leave the clutch depressed when you shut the car down. It's better for the whole drivetrain.

Was the AC or defroster on? That compressor makes a lot of noise when the car has been sitting or it is cold out.
