I have mixed feelings about mine and find that most of the time I have it out. It is useful for hiding things in the trunk but, as has been said, it cuts down on capacity when installed. Also, when driving with the window(s) open it flaps in the breeze a bit.
Overall, I am glad I have it; but if it did not come with the car I would not have purchased it -- probably. Although my Z's have been known to trigger impulse buys.

I think it needs to be seated just straight or something.

Comes with Touring models, right? I have never used mine, and like others take it out if I'm going to be using the trunk area for big stuff (e.g., golf clubs).
No rattle with mine...

I use it all the time to keep reflection down, then every time I buy groceries I must roll it away to make room. The 300 ZX was thought out much better. It had trunk space.
No rattles.

you don't have to roll it up to put bigger stuff in the hatch. The cover is longer than the hatch and the extra length stays rolled up usually, but extends to cover over bulky items.
I've put suitcases, groceries and numerous other things with the cover attached and had no problems. In fact it helps hold grocery bags in place instead of sliding around in the back.

I agree with MT, the single biggest reason I like my cover is that it cuts out almost all the glare from anything I might be carrying in the back. That said, my cover doesn't rattle but it definitely cuts down some of the storage space which, lets be honest, isn't a whole lot to begin with!
The one thing I would take over the cover is the cargo net and organizer since everything tends to slide around back there.

I have it but really never pull it out, haven't had any problems with glare, maybe it's because of my tint.
The cargo net I do use every day, stops stuff from moving around...

I like mine. Provides privacy and reduces reflection/glare from items in the cargo area. My tint is modest so as not to attract extra po-po attention.
No rattles. Came with the car. Same complaint about the placement of the cover, though. It shortens the cargo area by several inches.
