Is this total bs
I was doing some resaerch to see if anywhere in SLC, UT sold 93 Octane. I couldn't find anywhere but I did find a lot of people saying it's because we live in such a high altitude that 91 octane does the same thing. Does anyone know if there is any truth to this. Oh almost forgot SLC,Ut sits at 4400 feet above sea level.

supposedly, the higher the altitude, the less your car needs the high octane due to the engine retarding its timing to account for the lower amount of oxygen in the air. at least thats what i remember from the last time i looked it up. its not that high altitude somehow magically increases your octane
with that said...at least you get 91 octane up there...im nearly at sea level here, and we still get 91 max. damn california and its strict emissions! |

I live at 5200 feet and 91 octane works fine for me. I have never seen 93 octane available anywhere in AZ.
