Well, I think I am approved by Porsche at 2.9%. Now I just need to take one day and decide if I should pull the trigger.
![]() decisions..decisions....decisions. Grrrrrrr! ![]() I have a base, black, manual, 25k miles, Rays wheels, non dings/scratches, garages, and was offered $22.5k by the Nissan dealer. Do you guys think 22.5k is reasonable? Nissan wants to keep the Rays. I am pulling out my stereo, front BIg brakes, sways, coilovers, and Nismo Exhaust (if I can find someone quickly who wants to upgrade). UPDATE: As I anticipated, this thread has turned into a Porsche-Nissan comparo. ![]() It is all good and healthy. In the end, we all love cars. Enjoy the reading ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by cab83_750; 12-16-2010 at 10:43 PM. |

That will be abundantly clear on his first mechanical issue.

Well, hopefully this will not be an issue due to:
1. Factory warranty. 2. I have worked on Porsches for decades. Still, I and every current and future owners should be aware of P-car ownership. I have a coworker who makes Almost triple what I make and he had to get rid of his car due to mtce. |

We all pay one way or another.
![]() I just need to know if $22.5k is reasonable. I can go to CarMax obviously but If someone already knows that appraisals are standard, that would be one less variable for me. Thx. |

Yes but brand new the touring/sport model lists for $8000 more, so the pricing isn't necessarily that far out of line. If I were him I would be looking for $23.5 in trade.

Oh, and I happen to love the Caymen S. A good friend of mine had one, before the recession caused a downturn in his business. They are great cars. I think the 370 is a better bang for the buck, and he agreed as well. I think the way to go is a mint low mileage used Caymen S, let someone else take the depreciation and get a good deal.

What I do to estimate the value is check Edmunds TMV, KBB then surf around Auto Trader to see what comperable ones are really going for. Obviously lean on the high side as a seller if you can and have a nice car. Selling private you'll get more money, just depends on how long you want to wait.

Actually, this is somewhat contradictory as you already made your comment by stating your disapproval. ![]() It looks like karma here: Nissan just called and they said that they couldn't finish the oil chg service, etc and they are keeping the car til Monday. And I was planning on pulling out my mods tonight. ![]() |
