They've had FI kits ready for the car before it was even released.

Ford alone has two kits.

Yes. 624bhp, I belive. The Shelby setup (Ford Racing SC kit) does 0-60 in 3.7 seconds or something like that. Of course it has a suspension under it, too. Still, not bad!

That will be abundantly clear on his first mechanical issue.

I don't quite understand Carroll Shelby's love of the SC over turbo given the HP consumption to run the thing, but at 3.7 sec for 0-60, who cares I guess!

Well, hopefully this will not be an issue due to:

1. Factory warranty.
2. I have worked on Porsches for decades.

Still, I and every current and future owners should be aware of P-car ownership. I have a coworker who makes Almost triple what I make and he had to get rid of his car due to mtce.

I do, torque.
A 4.6L and now the 5.0L V8 engines have lots of torque and throw on a SC and you have almost as much torque as HP. Want to talk about throwing your a$$ back in a sit when launching.

Let's not forget that the other competitions are also getting better (I.e., LAw or Relativity). Heck, I still get believe that Hyundai is up there too.

In the end, each has its pluses and minuses --- and we all love cars!

Not trying to thread jack, but don't turbos add torque, too?

I believe the losses are minimal and there is less heat generation, the enemy of all engines. Anyone?

They do, but SC have always been better at generating more torque.
Also a SC can spool faster and many times put you in full boost or full power faster.

Gads, I suck!

I'd love to test drive one... don't get me into a Shelby - you may get another turncoat!!!

For OP, the cost of ownership is much more for a Porsche, as you know. Again, if you're willing to pony up the extra $$$, I'm sure you'll love driving it.
