I am alreay making a list of my mods. The only one unused is the EVO-R fog light. The coils will definitely be sold. I was really disappointed that my car stayed at the dealer today. I could have used today and tomorrow as my 'uninstall' time/dates. But then again, I see the lost as a gain to be used as "cooling off" period. |

Yeah! Heavily discounted too! Cormier Chevrolet has the best/highest discounting. Too bad they did not have the a black/manual/Grand Sport I was looking for. Z06 was great (obviously ZR-1 was perfect), but as I said, I don't want to commit a 'feloneous financial mistake.'
The Manager told me that they can order a 2011, if I wanted. My first sports car love was the Stingray. Never did buy one, though. Maybe in 10 years when it 'fits me'. Why did you sell you Z? You can PM me if needed. BTW, today in speaking with the Nissan salesman, he said that for some reasons, the Z aren't selling anymore (or as quick as before). Their convertibles are even discounted $8,000.00. He is not sure if it is the economy or the car itself. On the Porsche side, I saw a list that salespeople use --- a lot of cars are staying in the lot for longer than expected. Last edited by cab83_750; 12-12-2010 at 01:00 AM. |

It's across the board; while I was test driving the Porsches (gads, SWEET cars - they're just so right), the salesmen didn't really outright say that sales weren't up to snuff, but you could get the gist; especially after I frowned at the prices I'd pay new.

I don't want to jump the gun, but man....... the Cayman's gearbox is like heaven!
To all other readers, please note my thread is not meant to start a comparison. After all, I haven't given Porsche my John Hancock. |

I've been contemplating a new cayman s too but my Z sports is only 11 months old , not ready to give it up yet. A new S with taxes would be around $70k I could get two Zs with that money. Dollar for dollar I think a Z is a Better value.
I might just get a couple years old S for around $40k and save about $25k. It's very tempting. |

Cab, one of the reasons you're getting low balled on the offer price is the same reason vettes and caymans are suddenly reasonable.
It's the season. It's harder to move a sports car, especially RWD, in winter. All the same, you only live once. If you can live with the huge financial ding and are happier with a porsche, then why not? |

The Cayman is the one car that would tempt me into a trade. I've seen quite a few 06-08 Cayman S's with under 20K miles going for mid-30's, and '09 and later base Caymans (2.9 Engine, 265 HP) in the low 40's. Even though the base model is down on power, I think I would lean to the later and get a newer model ('09 and after), since Porsche has addressed the problems they were having with the RMS and intermediate shaft. The Caymans are seriously good cars.

High MSRP's are scaring people off. The cars are going for 10-12% under MSRP. Also, same as I stated above. Another thing is the C7. I think a few people are waiting at this point. I thought they were darn near the same based on every comparo I have seen. Do you have other data/experiences with them? Last edited by ImportConvert; 12-12-2010 at 09:09 AM. |

I have a friend who is planning to make the leap from a C6 Corvette to the Cayman R. That car will be interesting, a good 400 pounds lighter than the Z with the same power. A very nice track toy indeed. Not for me though, I like cars I can work on myself, the Porsche's are a PITA in that regard.

However, you couldn't drive both of them, could you? Obviously you like the Z more than the C5, so that's what you got. Value is a personal thing. |
