The Cayman is the one car that would tempt me into a trade. I've seen quite a few 06-08 Cayman S's with under 20K miles going for mid-30's, and '09 and later base Caymans (2.9 Engine, 265 HP) in the low 40's. Even though the base model is down on power, I think I would lean to the later and get a newer model ('09 and after), since Porsche has addressed the problems they were having with the RMS and intermediate shaft. The Caymans are seriously good cars.

![]() That info is cool. And I am personally cool with it --- after all, I still own a Z. ![]() I have been around long enough to know that "someone will always smoke someone." Heck, I don't even try to race any Civics; for all I know, they have tricks underneath. If I wanted to smoke someone, I probably would have bought the Corvette last week at $1,000 over invoice. |

the porsche options are super expensive though. I went to the porsche website and built a car for fun and was amazed of how much they charge for the options.

OP: A new purchase, at a great rate makes a poor financial decision. Stick with your Z and two years pay down.

Yeah! Heavily discounted too! Cormier Chevrolet has the best/highest discounting. Too bad they did not have the a black/manual/Grand Sport I was looking for. Z06 was great (obviously ZR-1 was perfect), but as I said, I don't want to commit a 'feloneous financial mistake.'
![]() The Manager told me that they can order a 2011, if I wanted. My first sports car love was the Stingray. Never did buy one, though. Maybe in 10 years when it 'fits me'. Why did you sell you Z? You can PM me if needed. BTW, today in speaking with the Nissan salesman, he said that for some reasons, the Z aren't selling anymore (or as quick as before). Their convertibles are even discounted $8,000.00. He is not sure if it is the economy or the car itself. On the Porsche side, I saw a list that salespeople use --- a lot of cars are staying in the lot for longer than expected. Last edited by cab83_750; 12-12-2010 at 12:00 AM. |

I've been contemplating a new cayman s too but my Z sports is only 11 months old , not ready to give it up yet. A new S with taxes would be around $70k I could get two Zs with that money. Dollar for dollar I think a Z is a Better value.
I might just get a couple years old S for around $40k and save about $25k. It's very tempting. |
