Lady backed into me in a parking lot she claims she did not see me her insurance is going to pay for repairs about $3000 new wheel and tire and bumper:mad:

ssqpolo 03-22-2009 11:24 PM

ouch

Anatoray 03-22-2009 11:30 PM

Damn, how fast was she backing up?

Had this nearly happen a couple days ago. A woman was backing out in her Nissan Armada. Now, I thought it was common sense turn while backing out so you have enough space to turn yourself straight, but this idiot backed out of her spot STRAIGHT, and I mean without even a thought about it. There was no issue with the cars beside her, and in fact, one side had the cart area, so she had an extra 18 inches of open space there. I really cannot fathom what she was thinking, and she didn't just almost hit my Z, but me as well as I was standing by it waiting for her to get out... She probably would have actually hit my car had I not been there, as I'm sure from her high angle she didn't see it.

AK370Z 03-23-2009 09:39 AM

Very unfortunate! :( ..I'm just curious, are you sure 3000 will cover all the expanses? Good luck with everything!

zZSportZz 03-23-2009 09:44 AM

Awww that sucks bigtime!!!

Did you punch her? (HAHA, just kidding)

WShade 03-23-2009 09:56 AM

Hopefully the damage is contained to the bumper and did not get into the 1/4.

Endgame 03-23-2009 10:01 AM

Some drivers are idiots and do not pay attention.... Sorry to hear/see that man...

dandg 03-23-2009 10:31 AM

Sorry to hear that man. I've had a couple of close calls so far. The other day a woman on her cell phone nearly changed lanes right into me, she came within 1-2 inches of hitting my car and I had to swerve in the other lane (i'm lucky there wasnt a car there). I'm paranoid about parking so I always park as far away as I can from other cars. There's so many bad drivers out there you have to be careful.

AndreZ Cadena 03-23-2009 10:32 AM

god damnit. Cars driven by women should be equiped with big rubber bumpers.

semtex 03-23-2009 10:42 AM

Oh that's just painful to look at. If she whacked into your wheel hard enough that you're getting it replaced, make sure the alignment is checked out too, as well as the wheel hub. And make sure you get a check for the diminished value.

You beat me to it again Semtex! This is VERY IMPORTANT.

If your wheel is damaged there may well be suspension damage and a good way to get an idea is to have the alignment checked. For godsake get it done because you do not want an unstable Zcar at XXX mph.

Be ultra fussy about it - it's your car and your life.

Chupacabra 03-23-2009 01:04 PM

ouch sorry to hear about that.

made you just want to snap her neck, while whispering in her ear "shhhhhh, shhhh its ok just go towards the light" right?

takimbe 03-23-2009 01:09 PM

:icon18: Some of those were new to me - I love the B&W CCTV footage of the French woman - and the way her handbag is the first thing to be retrieved.

:icon18::roflpuke2::bowrofl: thank you for that! I had to stop at the part where the lady cant park in a easy spot so the guy finally does it for her. I was laughing to hard and Im going to watch the rest with my co worker.

zsport1 03-23-2009 02:13 PM

Sorry to hear the bad newz. Hopefully your ride will be fixed soon.

Chupacabra 03-23-2009 02:14 PM

great video. I am still trying to figure out how she flipped the car on a gate. I mean you really have to commit to it to get that done.

Once that tire went up the wall, she probably floored it (freaked out) and the car rolled over. I have seen this video, and still cannot believe some of these things.

tvfreakazoid 03-23-2009 03:27 PM

Not to self, when parking your 370z "DO NOT PARK CLOSE TO OTHER CARS. PARK FAR AWAY FROM OTHER VEHICLES. RAIN OR SHINE, HOT AS HELL OR COLD AS HELL, PARK FAR AWAY FROM OTHERS". DANGER, DANGER!!!:eekdance:

arcticreaver 03-23-2009 04:29 PM

i hope everything turns out alright with you.

i park far away from cars. i'm super paranoid.

BanningZ 03-23-2009 04:58 PM

Pretty lame to see that happen to a PG or any color for that matter, Good luck on the repairs and +1 to having the suspension/alignment checked.

o0javi0o 03-23-2009 05:39 PM

no.... no no no. NOT FAIR!!!
Oh woman's.....
Men let us know how the repair procedure is working with you and how the insurance is working.
Hope that your repair shop do the paint blending good, check the alignment, and other mechanical spots in the affected area.

Good luck buddy.

StLRedrider 03-23-2009 05:49 PM

Man that suuuuuucks, hope you get your car back soon. Atleast she had insurance, but no driving skills....

DIGItonium 03-23-2009 07:01 PM

Oh snapz! That could've been my car! :crying:

It's not just women drivers, so we can't blame all of them. It's negligence... big time!

No offense to some owners and drivers, but I've seen truck drivers park past the line. One driver managed to park so close to the line his bumper touched my friend's car and put a welt on it. He shrugged and claimed it wasn't his fault and said offered $20 to fix it.

I've also seen truck drivers park almost 1 ft. away from my passenger side... crooked! How the heck he managed to get out without smacking into my car is beyond my comprehension.

It doesn't matter where or how far you park. People will find a way to "unknowingly" smack into your car.

Oh yea, watch out for those windy days.

Greg 03-24-2009 10:18 AM

Man just be glad you or some other person wasn't standing behind one of those idiots.

SoCal 370Z 03-24-2009 11:20 AM

I would not be surprised if there are more such incidents with other vehicles backing into the 370Z as the rear is such a bulbous shape that others will find it hard judging any reference off it.

U-NVmyZ? 03-24-2009 02:35 PM

pretty soon, every z owner will have to surround their car with cones and flags
when they park.

arcticreaver 03-24-2009 02:50 PM

anyone remembers batman returns? the batmobile had an armor would come on and protect the car via voice activation. we need that stuff!!!!

caneman88 04-18-2009 11:06 PM

did her insurance cover the whole thing?

Cyberium 04-19-2009 12:17 AM

Everytime I park the Z in a parking lot, it's always 15-20 cars away from anyone else. When I return from shopping, there is some A-hole right next to me.

I HATE THAT

Educ8r 04-19-2009 06:18 AM

Happens to me EVERY TIME!

nogoodname 04-19-2009 10:53 AM

looked like she really did not see you because she must of kept backing up to do that....ouch !!

kamikaze_Z 04-19-2009 02:46 PM

Her insurance should buy you a new Z, since your car is brand new.

bluzman 04-19-2009 06:49 PM

Yeah, right...and that'll definitely help the insurance rates for everybody else.

CantZme 04-19-2009 09:41 PM

how do you get paid out on diminished value. wouldnt that violate the law of indemnity with insurance companies.?
