Its like my younger brother... He hates cars and hates driving and my parents bought him the top of the line 2009 Tahoe with a special order 6.2L V8 with 22's... I said dude for christmas let me do something for your car... you know like a new set of rims or a new stereo system... can you believe this he said NO!!! I was floored! I built his last car and he loved it...

As far as driving with idiots and parking:

I drive like I ride my motorcycles my brain is working overtime! Anyone who rides bikes on the streets knows you have to be paranoid!!! and when it comes to parking I take the extra long walk or park in a end space to limit my exposure... when my car comes back I will take 3 spaces cause F*ck these B*tches my car is precious to me and costs more than their dam house!!! LMAO!

I've killed like 4 birds so far. Granted I work off a canyon road but those little F-ers want to fly out accross the road right as I approach. I even dusted one head on the other day. Thank god they are just the little sparrow types and that I have a clear bra. I don't know if it's the car, the color or what...

also, add in the fact that just b/c someone is in possesion of a nice car doesn't mean they are really wealthy enough to afford it. These days, all you need is decent credit, and the willingness to take on a huge debt in order to 'own'(but not really).

also it could be a leased car. I think most people who would hate on a nice car owner would think 'oh, nice car, they must be so rich they paid cash for it. fvck them.

but honestly, i think its mostly influenced by being totally aloof. Jeremy clarkson had quote that went something like this:

"People who drive rubbish cars should not be allowed to drive. Here's why. If you drive a rubbish car, it means you don't like cars. If you don't like something, then you can't be any good at it, and if you're not any good at driving, you shouldn't be allowed to drive"

obviously, he is kidding around but he does make a certain point. If you drive a shitty car (And its your ONLY car, not your beater or w/e) chances are (not necessarily) that you really don't care about cars at all. as long as it gets you from a-b, you don't care what it is, how it looks, how it drives or anything. So chances are, when you pull into a parking lot and you see a really nice car, it doesn't really register as a nice car. it's just a car, and you park next to it for no apparent reason. You park very close because you don't care about cars, and can't understand why someone would care if you invaded the 'space' of your vehicle.

there are a lot of people out there that don't give a rats *** about cars. There was a girl in my high school that, beyond the color and number of doors, couldn't tell the difference between cars. She'd look at a 7 series bmw, and not understand the difference between that and a black dodge stratus. it just didn't register. they were both just black sedans.

I agree with a lot of what you said, except I used to work at a dealership. We weren't supposed to, but we saw the credit score of nearly every person. You would be amazed at how rare a 700+ Beacon was. People are just as jealous of good credit as they are good income.

Roll up behind him in neutral, three feet behind, into gear and make like I'm doin the quarter mile. From my rear view, I could see he'd let go of the bags, and he was twitching pretty good!
Yah, I know, kinda immature, and some sh.t from the wife........ still worth it though!

:icon18: Love it!

Holy Christwagons  Like three days after I got my car, still all shiny and obviously brand new I went to the store. Parked far away from everybody, like always, but as I was pulling into the spot I saw this guy half down the lot putting his last bag in his stupid toyota. So out of curiosity I thought I would watch and see what he did with the cart, becuase as we know nobody ever brings those ******* things back. Not surprisingly this was no exception but then I realized he was pushing it right up to my car becuase he "didn't feel like walking" and of course this guy was so arrogant about the whole thing, if he didn't run of as soon as I took a step back towards my car I probably would have ended up throwing that damn cart at him.

So is that why the sales man keeps sucking up to me then, I guess I have unusually good credit and he thinks he can sell me another car :rofl2:

mick 12-10-2010 09:34 PM

haha. this reminds of the time when when i bought my 370z. the sales man asked me to fill out the credit application and i told him it wasn't necessary, i would write the dealer a big check.

and then when the paper work was done, it said the dealer had the lien on the car. i told him i already wrote you a big check, how could you have a lien on the car?

As my coworker would say: "That's why you can't have nice things." Another would tell me: "Man, I wouldn't be able to handle that owning a nice car."

My rear bumper has a small car due to some idiot who momentarily crossed into my lane as we were slowing down to the traffic light. I hit the brakes harder for a bit, and he pulled back to his lane. After stopping, he quickly swung his car from the far left to the far right lane. He was so close to my rear that I could not see his headlights even for a minivan! I honked lots of times, but he just stared at me and took off. Later that afternoon I noticed the minor scar on my bumper.

Earlier this week I was at Walgreens. After getting in the car, an F150 just pulled in and parked about 1 ft. away from my door! I quickly pulled out of the spot before the driver opened the door. The truck parked past the line into my space. As I was leaving the parking lot I hit the brakes as a truck sped in from my right making a wide turn just to park his truck. Then I hit the brakes again as I saw a vehicle back out and not notice me one bit. Then as I was about to leave the parking lot, another car hit the brakes as the driver narrowly misses the entrance to Walgreens. So the driver put it in reverse and pulled in. :icon14:

Then I had a situation where I was trying to accelerate and merge onto the freeway. Two vehicles behind me literally sped up making it difficult to merge. The vehicle in front of me managed to squeeze in between causing the 2nd vehicle (truck with trailer) to hit the brakes. I was already down to 20mph and running out of road when I managed to squeeze in behind the 2nd vehicle.

Then there's another situation where I switched to the left lane to let a truck merge. When I signaled to switch right, a vehicle that was a few car lengths back sped up close to my quarter making it impossible to change lanes. Both vehicles were already driving under the limit, so I ended up passing them.
