I will agree. The Z is much better looking.

The IS350 and ISF are pretty sweet rides. If I was willing to have four doors I'd consider the IS350 and if I had the money I'd buy the IS-F in a heartbeat. :)

That's the problem,I test drove another one a while back (before I got the Z) and it was awesome but the deal was not right. before 3,500 its a tame car but from 3,500 to redline it's loud and it pulls hard. It feels faster than my Z, its comfortable, easy to get in and out (Im a big guy) also it has that auto steering wheel adjusting motors. I do have to say the suspesion feels harder than the Z. Overall the only thing missing from this car to the Z its the looks factor.

It's faster than your Z, but not by a lot

My wife had an IS 350 a year or so ago. The overly boosted power steering was unacceptable. Because of this, it didn't qualify as a "sports sedan" imho. I don't know if the steering has been changed since then. Other than the steering issue, the car was a really nice ride.

416 HP V8
12.9 1/4
seats 4,with 4 doors
auto 8 speed trans
ventilated seats
:ugh2:

It's got an automatic transmission.

One that has done poorly in most performance reviews. Most cite "hunting" for the right gear all the time as being annoying.

Then again, this is from someone who thinks sports cars have 3 pedals and autos of any sort belong on the drag-strip, F1, or a minivan/truck.

low 13's/high 12's from a 400+bhp car sounds like luxury. If you want a luxury car, go for it. A sports car should be turning mid 12's. Oink Oink.

No manny, no goodie.... unless it's a GTR

I like the car but the price tag doesn't make justice for the HP.

I haven't even sat in an IS-F, but if it's anything like the IS350, I don't see it as an upgrade to the 370Z. I drove an IS350 before the Z, and it was a snoozefest. Horrible automatic, boring interior, boring sounds, boring acceleration. It was a solid and well made car, but IMO Lexus builds really nice cars for people who don't really care about cars or driving. The Z is a superior driver's car by a long shot compared to the IS350, although comparing a sports car to a luxury compact sedan that conclusion is fairly obvious.

Clarkson liked the IS-F on Top Gear, but said that the M3 was a superior car. Having driven an IS350 and multiple M3's, I think that's probably accurate.

Today I am looking a the IS-F, ill let you guys know

c41006 12-04-2010 09:24 AM

Those cars are out of my league here in PR, I can go up to 50K the E60 and
M5 here are around 75k to 100k depending on the year. Most 2008 IS-F's are selling still over 50K, that why this one at 43K its a good deal.

op- i think you're going to be bored with a toyota. imho, that car is like a poorman's euro sports sedan. get a AMG instead.

red6spd 12-04-2010 10:14 AM

Should have came in a stick. I say no, but if you want room and fast its a good pick.

Yea, in that class my preferred order would be this:

1) M3
2) C63 AMG
3) IS-F

BTW, have you heard the C63? That is by far one of the best sounding stock engines I have ever heard.

Good list. I agree with the order. Sounds like the OP is looking at the IS-F because of the deal mainly.

What's the resale value of a Z in PR? Sounds like prices are crazy there. I guess because the car carriers have to go underwater to get there.
