I'm 6'5 and around 215lbs, I use the 370z as my daily driver, heck I even throw winter tires on it during the cold season up here in Canada and drive it year round.

I feel it has a pretty good sized trunk, and I am very comfortable in the car. Having said that, everyone has different needs, but the 370z meets mine perfectly.

What kind of stuff to you need to haul around?.. I'm about your size and I carry a huge bag with my 17in laptop on the floor of the passenger seat and still have room for a trunk full of bottled water and groceries.

No, it's not. It's more difficult to get in and out of, but it has a back seat (useless for humans but it holds stuff) and more shoulder room. Doing shopping is easier in the 911 than the Z, although getting golf clubs in/out of the Z is much easier than putting them in the back seat of the 911 or the passenger seat and having to cover everything in towels to avoid slamming a driver head against the passenger side glass (or having it fall over on you while driving) Visibility in the 911 is also very good for a sports car, better than the Z for sure.

I think the XTerra is a good complement to the Z. Pick up a used one and keep that for hauling stuff. My dad has an '07 4x4 Off Road and I borrow it when I need to take my bicycle somewhere and for other occasional shopping trips. You can hold a lot in an XTerra when the rear seats are folded down, and that's very easy to do with just four pull straps.

The Z is my daily driver. I carry a briefcase and a laptop computer, and look at the Z as something to drive when I have to wear a suit, or play golf, and can't take the motorcycle.

I'm 6'3" and 180 lbs. The car fits me fine. When buying a car: If my head hits the ceiling it is too small for me. 6'3" is a far cry from 6'5" in a sports car though.
Re: Space. Yesterday I stood a boxed rifle in the front using the head rest to hold it in place, and 7 bags of groceries.

My DD is a 1999 chev cavalier Z24,(my wifes ex car) there is no way a Z can be a DD here in PR and be worth anything after 5 years. The roads have a lot of potholes, it rains and floods, the parking lots spots are small also there is a lot of stop and go traffic (I have a manual). ( I have to open the door almost completely to get in and out).

Today I am looking at a Lexus IS-F, depending on its conditon I will buy it and then sell my Z. The Lexus is almost the perfect car for me (just lacks the looks of the Z) but in my opinion it beats the Z in everything else.

If you want to trade in a month old car and take an absolute bath on it, that's your call. The next owner will certainly appreciate picking up a low mileage 370Z for cheap. If you buy a 370Z and then trade it in a month later, that's basically about $6000 to own the car for a month. That's "holy ****" stupid right there.

An STI? Make sure you pick up a shocker window sticker and the appropriate bro attire:

Sounds like you needed to do a bit more critical thinking when buying the Z. I can fit a $hitload of groceries in the rear hatch and routinely drive to track events with a jack, toolbox, helmet bag, and cooler all in the back area. When people complain about not enough trunk space in the Z, I can't help but think they're asking for something unreasonable. Will it hold two strollers? Not easily and without some creative thinking. But for daily chores and stuff, I can fit everything I need in the Z without much hassle. And I daily drive too.

Same here. I've driven to Zdayz 3 times with a fully loaded Z w/o problems.

To the OP, I personally think you either need to enjoy the car and get used to it or just go for that sh1tbox car you want and leave a real car to those who can appreciate it.

I loved the STI and was about to buy one, but the new models, the hatch (which I perfer) and the 4 door do not seem like they stayed true to their roots. If they would have kept a similar styling I would have went Subaru all the way. Then I started to really think about it.

STI: Turbo, Trunk, 4 seats (if you want to call the rear ones "seats"), AWD, Aftermarket support, and so on

370: You can always go FI, I have taken my 350 camping twice before without any problems, RWD = FUN, it's a new engine and it's only been out a 2 years and soon everyone will jump on the 370 bandwagon....

I was killing myself thinking did I make the right decision but every time I open the garage and see the car, I fall in love all over again. The other day I was driving home from work and at a red light this car full of hot *** girls all just looked in my direction and just stared at the car. At that point I knew if I was in an STI the only way I would have gotten their attention if it was a car full of calvin klein models. As long as they don't come out with a stock TT Z like the 300 I will keep this Z for a long long time. I also hope by the time I need a 4 seater Subaru will get their act together and then Ill have the best of both worlds!!! But that's just me. You should pick what will make you happy in the end and what goes along with your lifestyle (I'm 24 so my family car will be some kind of AWD beast) Good luck with your decision!

If I did not have a second car I probably would have bought an STI. I love my Z but its a little small for a DD and not really the best winter car. Thank god for my 01 Forester (RIP) and now my 2010 Nissan Versa SL

I'll go ahead and chime in on this. I just came from a 2010 Subaru STi not too long ago. I don't have a second car. Sure, it has room. If you drove it everyday like I did, the interior was just so unmotivated. It was so bland. It will make you think twice on how much you're spending on it. On paper, it puts out roughly the same numbers as the 370Z. Cheaper parts and easy to upgrade. But to me, if I am going to spend so much on the car, it better make me feel like it's worth it. The STi didn't.

P.S. I got rid of the STi for a Nismo 370Z. I realized that I don't need to haul things around (I can always buy a very cheap second car/truck like everyone has stated.) I'm young and single. The STi (since it's a wagon) gave the dad with kids impression. It's funny how some people bought the STi for it's double duty of being practical instead of really for what it is; a track/rally inspired car. Oh and if you're going to track the STi, be prepared to upgrade the radiator as well as an oil cooler. The stock engine's pistons are weak and can't hold boost that well. If you're thinking about the newer STi's, 2011, somehow they ended up being slower than 08-10.
