There have been a few times when I seriously considered trading my 370Z in on a GTR. Even once or twice with my Mustang I thought about it. But kind of along the same lines as what you've described, I felt like both the Z and Mustang are probably more fun to drive on the street.
Ultimately I think I have to have a proper manual transmission. Without a doubt I will be buying DC automatics in the future, but there will always have to be at least one old-school manual transmission sports car in my stable. Do want a Ferrari... probably a 550/575 in a few years when I've got the space to keep it garaged. Anyhoo, can't wait to see what you do with your 370. That 350 was awesome.

Absolutely.
I hope I'm not giving the impression that the gtr is the greatest thing on planet earth, I mean I did go w/ the Z. I was just particularly impressed w/ the launch/acceleration of the gtr from a dead stop. Anyhow op, if this 370 turns out like your 350, I am really looking forward see what u do. Hope u keep us informed.

alex, you can't sell your GTR before i get up there to shoot bet some NAGTROC folk will jump all over your volks if you want to sell them. i understand that it's cheaper to daily drive a Z but seems to me that you will have almost as much in the Z as the GTR by the time you get it set up the way you want it... but it's your decision. either way, i'm sure if you get a Z it will be one of the best looking ones out there since your 350 certainly was

The GTR is a beast. One fine automobile. I know it's going to be ridiculously fun at 10/10ths on a race track, but around town you've got to drive it at 3-4/10ths to keep things legal.

well i can understand that, i know a while ago you were talking about an S5 or something along those lines because the GTR felt numb... considered a 2012 since they say it feels much better to drive? if so, blue?

After reading through this thread, I am coming off my high desire for a GTR. I am more about fun driving with very occasional track time. I think I will hold on to my Z for a good while.
And M4A1 - FAIL on your ultimate car dream. Go for the F430 Scuderia!!! |

I'd take a 1984 288 GTO over the 575, though.
