370Z Hood

Is it just me or is the 370Z much heavier than the hood of a 350Z? I haven't had a Z for 3 months and I could be completly wrong

Default 370Z Hood

Is it just me or is the 370Z much heavier than the hood of a 350Z? I haven't had a Z for 3 months and I could be completly wrong but I remember being very impressed on how light the hood was on the 350Z. On my 370Z not so much.

Well the 370 does have a longer hood than the 350? Just a guess

Both hoods are built of aluminum. But the interior hood panels on the 370Z are built of aluminum (vs. steel for the 350Z) for lighter weight.

My only grievance with under-the-hood is the actual method that they sprayed the underneath—more of a matte finish versus a gloss; it's too hard to wax, and will collect grim over time much easier than a gloss finish.

Insulation=weight. After going to the trouble of building an all-aluminum hood, why would Nissan want to add any more unwanted weight with insulation?

I would have figured insulation was some sort of safety law at this point, everything else is.
