The Forum Wars: Season 2 Houston Texas
 

Talk is cheap if you can’t bring it behind the wheel. You’ve seen the episodes of The Forum Wars presented by Royal Purple, and you’ve thought, “I could do better than that!” Here’s your chance, as recruiting is set to begin for The Forum Wars Season 2.

Would you like to represent the370z on the track in your 370z? Are you willing and able to competitively run a ¼ mile drag race, autocross style road course and a 0-100-0 competition against a new Mustang 5.0 from Stangnet? We want you to compete on The Forum Wars Season 2 that will be filmed in Houston, Texas at the Royal Purple Raceway the weekend of Jan. 8, 2011.

Racers and fans of the inaugural season of The Forum Wars (The Forum Wars) will experience better competition as the new season will include:

· ¼ mile NHRA drag strip
· Improved road course design
· 0-100-0 racing
· Cars and drivers nominated and approved by the forums
· Additional track time for the drivers
· More evenly matched vehicles with similar mods and tires

This season’s eight (8) episode series will be promoted on national television, SPEED, and posted and promoted all over the internet. To sweeten the deal, prizes will be awarded to participants from Royal Purple, Magnaflow Exhaust, Eibach Springs, Mothers Polish and more.

Yeah, this isn't going to get ridiculous.

I'd like to see stock vs. stock. Modified cars will only end up being a terrible comparison.

I just hope this time they don't choose a car from the junkyard that doesn't have a chance like they did with the 350z last year.

Not a fair fight at all, especially if modifications are allowed. Maybe on the road course, the Z would prevail, but it would be game over on the drag strip and the 0-100-0 events. Lets get some TT'ed or SC'ed Zs out there, that will be entertainment.

Since this is season 2. How did season 1 turn out?

I remember months back I saw the Stang vs 350z battle of the forums.
It was that same stang forum vs my350z.com
The Z lost in all categories...

Watch them try to do a stock-for-stock comparo and use a base 370 and Brembo Mustang or base Mustang and Sport 370. :icon17:

Not sure if 400 whp will do it when we've seen 2011 5.0s smash the crap out of their front ends after pulling a 4 foot wheelies off the line.

The issue with the Z in a drag race is getting it off the line. We know how hard the Mustangs can launch, but no one really knows how hard the Z can on slicks. No one knows how much the diff and half-shafts can take without shattering. I figure jnaut will find out soon enough!

Either way, I think this is purely entertainment... nothing else. It doesn't prove anything. We'd be better off calling the folks at (the real) TopGear and having them do some silly challenges with the Z and 5.0.

Well, the Z makes a better boat but the Mustang is better for camping. :bowrofl:

The Mustang can pull a caravan far better than a Z!

Longer wheel base is better for towing! (insert Jeremy Clarkson comment about a rear end designed for a lorry) :bowrofl:

And for a reliability comparo they can subject both cars to the testing they put that Toyota Hilux through.

Which will best survive the English Channel? The 370-Zed or the Mustang!

Just checked the thread on Stangnet and there are zero replies. :icon17: I think Forum Wars would be be better off putting the 5.0 up against a Camaro SS (:barf:).
