Unlocking both doors simultaneously with door handle request button
Hey all, I'm new to the forum and just got my first Z! Platinum Graphite touring, 6 speed. The car's handling is spectacular!!!
Took a few cool pics, and will figure out how to upload. Here's my question: Does anyone know how to unlock both doors simultaneously with door handle request button in the non nav touring car? I had a G37s with Nav and it was an easy setup, but how can I accomplish this with my non-nav Z?? I hope someone can help. Thanks in advance!!! Scott |
I think if you hit the door button once it unlocked the drivers door, and a second time will unlock the passenger door. Same concept as if you were to use the key.

I do know that's another way but takes longer. In my G37 it was hit it once and unlock both doors. If I had the nav it would be a simple setting change. Trying to figure out 1 touch dual unlock.....

It takes longer? By how much? 1 second? I mean c'mon. ;)
But to answer your question, I'm not aware of how to change it to unlock both doors at the same time with 1 push of the button. Have you checked the manual already? Because I do remember seeing some instructions about changing various options, like whether or not it beeps when you hit the button, etc. Maybe there's a way to do what you want. |
haha I know, I'm set in my ways, and little things like that get to me because I know its got to be possible.

The dealer should be able to program this mode for you. I am a bit miffed that they did not place this, the auto headlight sensitive, and duration left on, in the multitasking fuel gauge as if would have been very easy for Nissan to have done so.

Looks like it can be done by the dealer, if I'm reading this correctly...

Car Function Adjustments Available Only with Nav?
Since I have not gone back to the dealer yet, I have not discussed these issues with a Nissan Service Department to determine whether there is some sort of button code that can accomplish changing these options if you do not have nav. That's not to say that they will know either as the car is just too new. As it stands no one has found a way to change these options yet—other than through the nav. Semtex and the others are good guys contribute a lot to the forum; they really were trying to help you. |
Just because a person doesn't know the answer doesn't mean they can't at least try to point you in the right direction. Call me crazy, but usually that's something that people appreciate rather than get bent out of shape over. The dealer should be able to do this for you, so head on over to the dealer.
You might also want to check out the Service Manual. It's accessible via this link here: http://www.the370z.com/nissan-370z-o...ce-manual.html Now see, that's an example of trying to help by at least pointing someone in the right direction. But I guess in your view, providing you the link to the Service Manual is "lame," isn't it? |

Thank you Chubbs and Socal. Appreciate it. I'm sorry if I offended anyone. I'm very excited about my new Z and am just trying to make it an easy transition from my g37 and like to have the same settings. Might seem silly to some that I don't want to press the button 2x when I'm use to pressing it once but I know its possible! I realize you all were trying to help. |

Look in the manual, section "4-15", under Comfort & Convenience, "Selective Door Unlock": when this is "ON" only the driver's door is unlocked first, and another push of the button within 60 sec, the passenger door is unlocked. when this is "OFF", all the doors will be unlocked after the door unlock operation is performed once. |
So it IS in the manual after all! Cool find, keioh. I would have never thought to look in section 4, considering the section's title: "Monitor, heater, air conditioner, audio, phone and voice recognition systems."
