I used 93 at Sunoco for the longest time and just recently started with V-Power at Shell. V-Power is also rated 93.
I'm sticking with Shell..it might be just me but it feels like I get better performance. Now I want to try gas with no ethanol..not sure if such a place exists in Delaware or South Jersey. I assume a stock Z can use it without any changes. Last edited by npdabest; 11-21-2010 at 06:21 PM. |

Husky nearby me has 87 and then 94 : /
So I looked in the manual and it says the recommended is 91, putting 94 isn't gonna benefit me in anyway. So, I usually fill up 1/2 tank 94, then come back in a couple of days and fill up 1/4 tank 87. Manual says it's ok... |

You can get a slight benefit from the higher octanes as the ECU continues to advance timing until it detects knock, the difference is slight however.

^ Of course, it will make some difference, nothing noticeable however... If I can cheat and save a couple bucks once in a while, won't hurt the car, as long as I'm not running only/or majority 87 I'll be fine I reckon.
