I'm just glad everything was fixed correctly and her insurance company was hassle free. However, it's been hard trying to sell a car that's been in an accident, even if it's only cosmetic. So, I'll probably just end up driving it until the warranty runs out. Before the accident I LOVED my car. Now I just love my car.

I know the feeling and even that it was cosmetic, people will always be hesitant to buy a car involved in an accident. That is life...

It will help if you have the proof that the car was fixed correctly at a reputable body shop and no frame damage.

Do what I tell my teenage driver to do: Assume that everyone on the road is trying to kill you.

Considering we are all piloting 1.5 ton missles, we just need better/stricter traffic laws in general. Carwreck from running a redlight = loose license for a year. Run redlight = $1,000 fine.

That, or I should all be allowed to a carry shotgun and allowed to blow out the other persons tires for ergregiously breaking the law...

Just today, these two soccer grandmas in a mini-van ran right through a stop sign in front of me. I still want a Z, but damn, whats the point of spending all that cash & then not want to drive it.

Ish, still driving his 11 yr old pick up...

This is exactly why they introduced photo enforced traffic lights, at 75$ a pop you stop running red lights and not completely stopping before making a right turn at a red light (Texas law) real quick.

i hate driving on weekday mornings between 9:30am - 11:30am aka geezer hour. speed limit suddenly gets gated -15mph, stop signs are yeild signs, red light is yellow, parking space is doubled, coming out of parking lots into street becomes a random act, etc.

Replace "parking lots" with "side streets" and that's how I ended up driving OVER an old ladys trunk. Nobody was hurt, and my truck was mostly ok but her car looked like Gravedigger had its way w/ it!

This thread sparked my interest for an informative speech that I had to do for my class. Interestingly enough that people over the age of 35 are more likely to have accidents than people over 65. The 45-54 year old crowd makes up 20% of car accidents alone. Also, the 19 year olds and under make up less than 5% of accidents nationwide.

All of this is according to the 2009 Government Census.

that's because there are more people over 35 which includes 65 year olds.

and kids 19yrs and under that can legally (wat 16, 17, 18, and 19yr olds?)drive is a much smaller sample size.

You're right! I take back my generalization.

Yes, however we're using percentages and not a specific number of legal drivers. People start dying off after 65 too lol.

The amount of older people around here doing completely idiodic things on the road is easily 100 to 1 compared to younger people (under 45).

Its not unusual to see someone in a motorized wheelchair driving down the road as if they were a normal car. Nevermind that they can't make the speed limit, dont have turn signals, etc. Cops will drive right past them and do nothing. Not long ago one of these people got killed because they got ran over after pulling out into a lane in front of a car.

2 days later a 90 year old man ran over someone checking their mailbox on the side of the road. He said he couldnt see him over the "hill". The entire section of road is perfectly flat, but they let him off with no charges. People literally get away with murder.
