the 2009 model only has 6 speakers, and the two in the back are useless, blocked by the seats and overpowered with rear tire noise. the 2010 could be better, I think it has 8 spkrs. Best option is to just upgrade the sound system. The interior noise is what I consider very high, but it depends A LOT on the surface you are driving on. It's also possible that different tires could reduce the noise significantly.

I have driven the Z to ZdayZ, last weekend to W. Virginia and other long drives.

The noise level is nothing especially with my F.I. CBE which is music to my ears.

dynamat is your friend.

i was kinda amazed how quiet the cabin was with the windows rolled up. i usually drive with the driver side window down so... but ofcourse my kyoto muffler is pretty noisy with is nice dry tone. i can hear my stereo just fine.

If you consider the foam that holds the spare tire in place, then yes. But aside from that there's absolutely nothing.

Even I am beginning to get tired of the noise question. Check out the "Cabin Noise" thread in this section, it should answer most of your questions.

You'll need to test drive - a symphonic hall these Z's ain't, and if you're used to Lexus-quiet interiors, you'll be disappointed.

I'm a fan of all types of music (wife even got me into country), but trying to listen to classical music in the Z is not the best thing to do.

The 2 carpets are the insulation. There is a little bit around the plastic trim pieces but that is just to prevent vibration I believe.

Do you literally mean NO sound-deadening? None? I find that hard to belive, unless you were just being figurative/meaning very little. The car wasn't that loud when I took it on the highway. In my back yard, I got it up to 110 and it was comfy, solid, and quiet as any sports car I have ever been in.

Resonance chamber? moreso than any other smaller/sporty car? Again, I did not notice anything bad, but I didn't drive/ride more than about 15 miles all-togather in the 370's.

Not arguing, just wanting to clarify as your opinion seems a little more polarizing than my experience.

I see you have a '10 Z listed in your profile/SN box. What did you trade for, or do you still ahve it and just not like the noise you experience?

Was this a test drive of a new 370Z at a dealership ? and the let you get up to 110 ? wow.......forget the break in lol

I have test driven a few different cars and had several of them over 100 on the highway during the test drive - 370z, bmw 335is, lexus 350is, GT 5.0

I actually got pulled over on one test drive, but got off with a warning

It was in my back-yard. There was an un-marked car lurking in my back-yard. No citations were issued. I did get a ricer fly-by from him with his lights on, though.
