buying new nismo?

I am thinking about purchasing a 2011 370Z nismo this spring. I have a 06 G35 now. On Nissans site with all option its about 42,500. Can I expect to be able to talk down the price any? or do they hold pretty firm because they have no problems selling? I imagine if I buy while it is still winter I would have the best luck getting a better price but It will be my only car since I will sell or trade in my G. What have you guys paid for your new Nismo? I search around quite a bit on this site but I didnt find anything, so I appoligize if this is a regular thread.

I would offer them about $2000 over dealer cost. Dealer cost is usually a few K below Invoice, at least with GM. I don't know about Nissan.

Mind if I ask why 2011, over a 2010?
Are they changing anything on 2011s?

You'll be able to get the rearview mirror back-up cam for the 2011 Nismo...plus the new gun metal color

I love the Nismo, but I think its a rip for the mirror.

Just be expected to pay an extra $250 if you get a 2011. The mirror is an option so don't expect it to be on the 2011's. If I was you, I'd get a 2010. There is no major difference besides the color and mirror.

Plus you could probably get a good deal on a leftover '10

I suggest you look for a used 09 with low mileage. You will save a but load of money.

Im considering that, but I really want to get a new car for once. I dont neccessarly have a problem with spending 40K+, but I just want to be sure when I purchase that I am getting the best price. Is there any bargaining power for a Nismo?

Go to a bigger city with a bigger dealer. They have the power to bargain. Its easy they sell more cars. So they can sell these cars cheaper. Esp if they have been sitting there for a while. I would say shop around dealers. Maybe go out of town.

i agree. here in cali there were probably 5-6 white nismo's at the dealerships in the area. was very easy to deal for me with the option to go so many dealerships!

When I bought my new 2010 Nismo last summer, I was negotiating with 2 dealers, neither of which had a Nismo in stock. Both dealers were more than willing to negotiate on price. I finally got them down to $37k. Sold! I had to wait a couple of weeks for the dealer to locate one.
I found TrueCar.com very helpful in giving me an idea of the market price for these vehicles at the time I was looking.

Hint: Everything is negotiable.

Good luck,
Jim

Everything...and i mean Everything is negotiable! I used USAA's car buying service (free) and got a price i didnt even think would be possible $35839. I specified 3 colors ( i live in CT in the NE) black, silver, and the platinum grey. There were only 18 from maine to northern virgina. I did my research and found many dealers that were willing to locate one....but for the wrong price. kept searching (and after hearing from another dealer that they could get one for me from a dealer in jersey). Well i decided to call up the NJ dealer myself, yes i know a jerk move but they sold me the car for $1000 lower than the dealer in CT offered to pick it up for me. At the end of the day i got a brand new black nismo, at a great price, and i love it!

good luck with the search. give the USAA car buying service a try if you can. it saved me a pretty penny!
