ur almost there. this car is in need of an oil cooler because temps rise too high with hard driving. so if ur a big track guy, then an oil cooler is a must. otherwise, ive driven mine pretty hard here and there and i also run on the highway all the time with no problems. most likely in future models, nissan will provide an oil cooler in the sports package. right now u can get one from nissan thru nismo. either that or there are several aftermarket options

As of this date, I'm pretty sure that Nissan via NISMO does NOT offer oil coolers for sale to the public. I think this would be the best solution for those concerned about warranty. But I can find no listing of it as an option anywhere, including Nissan Japan's website where they show all the 370z NISMO S-Tune optional parts. Many of these parts are not yet available in the US, but no oil cooler is listed.

Click on this link and then select "FairladyZ" to see what I'm talking about.

日産:オプショナルパーツ/NISMO STREET PARTS

Nissan knows this is an issue for the track, but not the street. Car and Driver stated their test vehicle in their original test review had an oil cooler and diff cooler installed, as did other early cars given to the press (Edmunds points this out too). But production models do not have them yet and I wouldn't count on it as 2010 standard feature. So the only current solution is the aftermarket.

Which begs the question -- Which oil cooler did Nissan install on these test vehicles?

^Good question.

It was Edmunds that said you can get 'em from NISMO. But I'm not sure if this is really correct. This is a picture taken from the Edmunds website, it shows part of one of the coolers in question on their test car. Certainly doesn't look like a stock OEM install to me...

This is the real question whether you get that particular cooler or not, it'll give the requisite sizing, best pacement, etc. needed.

I'm still wondering what people in the really hot areas (like here in phoenix) will see in the summer. I mean, when it's 120 outside, and you're sitting in bumper-to-bumper traffic with the AC cranked, will it be a problem? I'm not totally convinced that it will be a problem, but I will be keeping an eye out.

Wouldn't the coolant moving thru the A/C radiator, help cool the engine radiator? What I'm trying to say-Coldness from the A/C radiator, passed on, by air flow, to the engine radiator!

Just my 2 cents-But with this engine having heating problems, I think it would be foolish not to install an oil cooler! Track or not!

^ naw, if you want to lower your engine temp, you have to turn the AC off, or even turn the heat on.

Shouldnt be a problem ^ I have G37s and here in south Texas we got up to 107F and I drove all day mixed highway and bumber to bumber city traffic and neither the car or my self broke a sweat, I was sitting nice and cool inside! Limo tint does help tho.

Yes, the press test cars had both differential coolers and oil coolers. Makes one wonder what's up with the differntial as well. Hmmm...
