If you arent going to track the car, you don't need a cooler. You can't push the car hard enough on the streets to get it to any sort of concerning temperature. I don't think that hot days will make a difference.. Guys that live in warmer temperature climates and dont track the car - be patient and don't waste money until someone actually confirms that you need a cooler. Its not just money either... installing a cooler when you don't need it just adds things that can go wrong...rock through the core, loose fitting - boom and your engine wont be covered under warranty.

Check out this thread I just found. Kinda funny, because they're discussing travisjb's thread on tracking the 370 and his oil temp issues.

That depends on your definition of 'funny' After all this, will anyone else dare try their 370Z at the track?

DAD dissapointed. the "cooland that goes through the A/c Rad. is really quite hot that is where the heat is released from the system. Like the coils on the back of your fridge. lol

Sure, after it's broken in, the oil is switched out for a quality ester-based synthetic, and a good oil cooler is installed. Why not?

My son in laws car(Saturn)would over heat, turn on the A/C, the engine would cool off!

200 miles on the car, and he takes it to the track. The engine is no way broke in! That's foolish!

The rule of thumb is that if your stuck in crawling traffic...you shut off the A/C & radio & roll down the windows!
Turning on the A/C!!!! unreal!

This thread is tittering on the edge of a cliff. Lets keep it on subject. Its a good read for those who are considering the cooler.

You don't need one for daily driving or sitting in traffic.

You will need one for track sessions.
