Owners of both Coupe And Cab --- comparo pls
So, I am in So Cal and I definitely misssed my cab. I missed the wind, the smell of Pacific Coast Hwy, the sunny-cloudy days, and the dual-personality car.
From people who has or had both, how is the cab? Any issues? Wind noise? Pluses? Minuses? Do you regret having bought the cabriolet? I actually don't mind trading my coupe for a cab. Thx Last edited by cab83_750; 10-31-2010 at 11:01 PM. |

I have not had a convertible 370 but my previous car was an S2000. IMO the convertible is more worrisome than it is worth. There were so many places I wouldn't drive it just because I was afraid someone would slash the top. Not to mention all the extra maintenance and cost associated.
However I will state that I live in an area that is high 80s and 90s with humidity for 4 months out of the year. So my use of the convertible was limited. Socal is probably a better place for a convertible.

I owned a 350z Roadster and now own a Nismo 370. The road noise in both cars is definitely there, but worth the hastle. I do miss the ability to drop the top and, if I had it to do over again, I'd probably go back to the ragtop. That being said, I had to replace the ragtop on my 350 after just 4 years. Damn that was pricey.
The cabin on the ragtop is quite compressed, so if you don't like tight spaces, stick with the hatchback. |

cab83,
I own a coupe. I've driven convertibles since I started driving. I agree, there is something nice about verts. If I could, I'd get a Z Roadster. But I'm enjoying my coupe. It's terrific fun. |

I was hoping that a member here has both cars so we can have an apple to apple comparison. Specifically I would like to know if there is cowl shake.
As a background, when I had a Supra, the car felt like it had a loose wheel whenever I took the Targa top off. Very very annoying! I just don't want to trade in my coupe for a cab if the handling will be very different. Yes, I have heard that the Z was initially designed as a cab, but hey, I need real owner's feedback. |
