welcome to the forum, and i believe you are the first one from singapore here...
youre owners manual should give you the converted amount needed in liters, if not just google it from quarts to liters... as far as changing the oil to any specific brand, well thats a personal preference, go with what you trust, but any 100% synthetic should be just fine. there is an oil poll here in the forum that would provide good info for you. good luck, and enjoy the z! |

It's Nissan Ester Engine Oil. Look in your owner's manual for specifics. There's a page called "Capacities and Recommended Fuel/Lubricants" that lists it.

^ You guys realize the VQ37VHR requires an ester-based oil, right? I'm not sure if RP and Mobil-1 are ester-based.

I run AmsOil 0w30 signiture series full synthetic in my 350 with an ams oil filter. Works great. Ive also heard great things from royal purple. And yes 0w30 is recommended from ams oil. As well as 5w30. They have an app guide on thier website.

Most Synthetics have Ester in them. Either way I would stay away from RP period.

*3: NISSAN recommends Genuine NISSAN Ester Engine Oil, which is available at a NISSAN dealer. is it listed as required somewhere else? Last edited by kdo2milger; 03-17-2009 at 09:59 AM. |

1 of the techs at the dealership said he went on a training course for the Z, told me that the Nissan Ester Oil they use is Fully Synthetic. I don't know if it "REALLY" is or not but he said they only use it on the 37OZ, G37 and GTR.
Anyhow it seems like a few people have had problems with ticking and engine noise when it's not used. There's a thread dated from 9/08 on my37 that talks about the oil as well. |
