I choose the Sport Package over the Touring Package. I had an 04 350Z Touring with Navi. And tell ya the truth the leather sucks, and as nice as it looks when its brand new I know deep down inside after sitting on it a few times it will crease and start to look like ****. I preferred the added bonus in performance vs looks inside. Personally the Base seats are comfy and when I hit a turn fast im not sliding around on leather. Do I like the leather and the Navi... Yes but those are cheaper upgrades then Brakes/Rims/SRM down the line.

In the end its all up to you, but you will most likely regret it if you don't. Try pricing out the following:
19' RAYS 4x RE50's 14' disc brakes w/ 4 pistons in the front Front chin spoiler Rear Spoiler LSD AND THEN! top it all off with the cost of installation, unless you can install all this yourself. Now I'm not 100% certain, but I'm pretty sure it will cost more than 3K. Oh! and I forgot to mention, you will still be short the SRM... |

Also, it is a little unfair not to subtract the cost of the base parts - the car does come with wheels and tires!

Let's talk resale value: A 370Z without Touring & Sport packages says that the original owner could barely afford it. Maybe leased it or had his daddy co-sign for it. Maybe drove the sh*t out of it, or modded it and drove the sh*t out of it and then took the mods off before offering for sale. I wouldn't touch a car like that, whether or not the perceptions are accurate. It willend up being sold to the next guy who can barely afford it. There are some great deals out there right now, scrimp on your Starbucks bill or the amount you pay each month to send text messages and make the higher payment.
You are welcome. |

Had time to do alil better research:
Ok, giving luv to all Z's...Base, Sport, Touring, Both Sport/Touring, and Nismo.....here is the low down based off 2011 price:
Based of MSRP 2011 Nissan Z Base: $30,610 Sport: $33,630 - Additional: $3,020 Sport/Touring: $38,300 - Additional: $8,310 Sport Package includes: 4 piston calipers 14inch rotors frnt 2 piston calipers 13.8 rotors rear LSD Vicious 19" Rays Chin Spoiler Rear Spoiler Synchro with Manual Additional: Splash Guards: $220 Carpeted Mats: $115 Carpeted Trunk: $95 Illuminated Kick Plates: $200 Airdynamics: $650 Nismo Brake Pads: $580 Nav package: $2,500 Rearview Mirror w/ Homelink: $785 Now if you purchased a Base and decided to upgrade your Z: 4 piston front brake kit will run you between $1,500 and up with rotors 19" Rays LMZ5 about $2300 Bridgestone-Brand Potenza RE050A about $1200 balanced/installed Rear Splash Guard Kit: $78.95 Front Splash Guard Kit: $78.95 LSD: Roughly $1500 Z Mats Z Store: $134.95 Carbon Fiber Door Sill Z Store: $179.95 Trunk Carpet (Amazon.com) cheap and thin: $90.00 Spoiler no rear light: $109.00 No need to do the math :P DUH!!! just purchasing after market rims and tires equals the SPORT Package alone.......Not to mention the time and labor of installing parts............and of course the lovely WARRANTY and higher resale value of OEM performance installed parts All in all its best to just get the SPORT if you do not wish for NAV Touring Package.....cause even if you decide to upgrade you can easily make you money back on selling your OEM Parts to base Model Owners who rather want OEM Parts versus aftermarket..... Also, I'd just offer up the thought that a non-sports package car probably get's driven less hard on average... |
