Thinking about getting rid of my 370Z for a 94-95 300ZX TT T-top...
Why? well, I may move out of the 48 contiguous states in the next year or 2, and the cost of transporting the 370, well, it may be better if I just buy one there after I move...so for now, I just want something I can play with and ship that one instead and then buy another car when I get there...anyone know the maintenance and troubles with the 300ZX TT?

I have one and they are great cars. (See my gallery for pics) They can easily do 400HP at the crank with just a chip and bolt ons. But they do have issues like the injectors failing due to ethanol and just old age. Also a TT will cost you much more than the Blue Book, and they are hard to find. It also can be hard to find one in good clean shape. Most are thrashed. But I do prefer my 370Z to my 300ZX, even though it's a tad slower...

Not really as the 300zx TT is a timeless design and will kill a 370z in power and looks.

I'm assuming you are trying to save money by getting a 300ZX TT? But as TJ said, you are going to be hard pressed to find a 300ZX TT in good shape for under $17K. Then you have to think about the maintenance on a 20 year old car.
IMO you are better off sticking with the 370z.

LOL.... All true Z Owners that I have met, agree the Z32 is the best looking Z that has been out other than the original 240z.

I don't think I could possibly roll my eyes harder. Seriously though, the Z32 is the most unique in the sense that it doesn't look anything like the 240. It's a pretty good looking car, but the side profile isn't unique for cars made at the time. It looks like a late 80s early 90s car -- because it is. I think it looks better than the 350, in my opinion, but not the 240, 280 or the 370. Also -- to the OP, consider that you are probably going to be paying 16-20k for an unmolested, good condition 300ZX that hasn't been molested/riced/etc. Also you're probably going to want to touch the brakes and suspension to put them up to current standards. You'd still be out ahead, but probably less than you imagine.

IMO, the 370Z is the best looking, but it's a real close call between it and a 1978 280Z. |
